I have seen alot of people hate for example Shinichi from parasyte for being a "Wimp" and a tool but when i look at him all i saw was a realistic teenager.

The other day i was watching an ecchi anime (To loveru) and people were bitching how the character needs to man up just because he can't fight and is a kind person who likes to avoid violence... again that's realistic and is a normal teenager.

People get so bitchy over characters like this but then you get an unrealistic character that is always tough and hits on girls etc and people go OMG THIS CHARACTER IS AWESOME.

'
....I don't get it what's wrong with having a simple everyday guy as a protagonist and why does it piss so many people off ._.

I don't know anyone who would care about Rito fighting. He needs to man up and choose a route, Haruna or Harem. I personally vote Harem.

I think he shouldn't pick anyone to be honest except the person he likes.

but people think his choice is not manning up and that is strange to me all i see is a shy teen who wants to tell a girl his feelings but can't because he is shy i don't see the problem xD

Because realism does not always make a good story. But anime fans tend to live vicariously through anime and having a protagonist that strikes them as too real ruins that. Id argue Shinji is one of the greatest characters ever but people hate him.

Closing this in favor of the more active copy that I've just renamed to include "in anime" and moved to the Anime forum. Please join the discussion there:
