I have always loved wood, although area rugs are nice.

Just not those really dark woods they show the dust so quickly!

My floors are Terrazzo and they are easy to clean.

I hate carpets. I like floors that I can disinfect to my heart's content. I have two cats, so I think carpets are too hard to maintain when your cats get older or if kami forbid you have children. My current apartment has no carpets, it's wonderful. It can get a little hard on people's feet, so we wear supportive slippers at home. My husband on the other hand, likes carpet and wishes we had it in the bedroom at the very least, to which my response was something along the lines of: "No way, the bedroom is just as dangerous a room as any for people/children/animals to make a mess in."

As a result I don't hold it against my cats if they get sick because some baka fed them peanuts even though I told them not to.

I also liked wood it always looks nice but I think the best part is when you wear socks and you slide on the wood like a ice skater
