Vinyl... linoleum

also works, and is a lot cheaper

still prefer wood though

If I can't have wood then cork tiles work well. They're technically still a wood product (tree bark), cheap, environmentally sustainable and easy to install. They do require 3 coats of yacht varnish to be used in bathrooms and kitchens though. I've got some in a part of my home. I've had an iron fall and bounce on them. That convinced sis to put those tiles in her son's bedroom. I've had vinyl in a bathroom before only because I didn't want to do any varnishing. I regretted it, chipped edges of vinyl looks bad. Sometimes when things drop on it there's been a mark. A damaged cork tile is so easily changed.

Wood. The floor of my room is laminated bamboo and it's quite solid. Stays cool, too, and is very easy to clean. It is also more comfortable than a marble or granite floor to lie down on. It cost a lot but you get what you pay for, I suppose.

I like dark hard wood flooring.
But I also like crazy long shag carpets.

Either way I guess haha.

Both. Rather have wood than tiles for sure.

wood since it's easier to clean and mop, but dark color wood like chestnut dark brown color.

Carpet for the feel, and tile for the hot summer days when I am too lazy to get to the beach.

Wood with large rugs, much easier to deal with than carpet.

Wood, because you can't get lipstick used to "paint the floor" with out of carpet...

Or so my grandma says >>;

Wood not close.

Wood. It's so much easier to clean when you have pets. I like rugs too, though, it helps make things a little cosier.

Carpets, all the way. I was brought up in a house with carpets, then all of a sudden, we switched to wood and I started realizing that its super easy to scratch and needs constant cleaning. Its also slippery, and if you're just going to have area rugs ontop of the wood anyway, what's the point? A mix of stone tiles and carpet is ideal~

Wood is beautiful and easier to clean.
