Have not watched Crunchyroll since upgrading from a roku 3 to the Nexus player. Thinking about canceling subscription since there has not even been an announcement of Android tv development. Android tv has been out for quite some time the only apps I am waiting on is twich which has been announced and crunchyroll.

When choosing to upgrade your device, it shouldn't have been a surprise that a CR app wouldn't not be available.

Why? It is available on every other device I can think of. It is the only major streaming service that has not even announced an Android tv app at this point. I would at the very least expect an announcement of development. At the current time it looks like they are not even going to support the platform.

I would also VERY much like to see AndroidTV-support from crunchyroll :)
It's kinda a bother having to turn on the PS4 everytime I want to watch crunchy, and... well... the console controllers doesn't actually scream multimedia

I would love to see official support for Android TV, as my Nvidia Shield needs it There is a way to get the regular Android Crunchyroll app working on the Shield, but you can just play videos, not pause, stop, or any other controls during playback.

It was just updated to version 2.0.0 which has pause and forward/back but the initial queue selection panel is formatted for a smartphone in portrait mode.
It looks ludicrous on a widescreen TV.

Yeah i just got the update yesterday and im not happy with it. I posted some screenshots in another thread. I got it to be landscape but had to sideload another app just to do it. It was way better with the previous app version

We'll be fixing the issues with the landscape mode in the next update. However, the app is still made for phones and tablets, we cannot guarantee full compatibility with Android TV devices.

Actually the current app has no Android TV compatibility, it doesn't even appear on the Android TV Play Store because the app is not optimize for it. The only way to get the app on Android TV is to sideload the apk which is not possible if someone have a Philips Android TV because they disable sideloading.
Crunchyroll had a Google TV app so why no Android TV app is in development ??

Any news on a crunchyroll android tv app? My wife and I have switched to watching our anime on netflix becasue they actaully have an app. If there is no hope of me being able to use my crunchyroll subscription, then I should just cancel it and stick with netflix.

Nothing officially as far as I know, but I started to program an unofficial one a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately school work has left me with little free time, so I haven't worked on it at all since then

It's to bad that they don't have one. What stage is your unofficial one at? I have no experience with Android development (mostly use node.js). But if I can help I will.
