Well Quebec has it's magical reasons(i could list them but there is no point XD). But indeed the leaving asset is interesting. For just the general concept of things the government of Quebec wouldn't be able to last even if they separated unless massive overhauls were made...that and the factor that all borders are owned by Canada would mean a double tax on just about everything xD

I've always been on to vote for the Conservatives, but Canada is more of a sad country to me now. then it was before. (my opinion purely. NO need for die hard canadians freaking out. I'm a Canadian, i was born in montreal, quebec, and traveled and lived all over most of east canada. XD which if you don't know is Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland and Labrador. Though i currently live in the states, doesn't effect my opinion.) So for me i'd probably go NDP, The Liberals just screw up canada economically, though that sounds bad, but until a liberal party does something on the lines of you know, making the economy of canada better. Then i'd have to say no. Plus i don't believe we should (canadians) be spending money on other countries, when we could help the homeless and such in our own country first. once that's done, and we actually turn a profit and not just add to our ever growing deficit i think then it's fine to throw money out the window XD

I didn't Realize though that the bloc had even managed to get back into the voting world. I mean they were "defeated" by the green party. And the only people who would vote bloc hopefully learned their lesson from the last prime minister they had that basically screwed Quebec up even more XD.

As a Quebequois(Well i call myself french canadian but i mean when talking to Canadians i do call Ontario people Ontarians so i guess that works out XD) , i have to say i feel rather insulted that people merely think that i always have to tell people that the polite people in Canada come from Ontario though. So i guess that works out XD Poor poor people of the world, thinking Canada is a giant happy donut haha

anyways, how i always vote is based on the value to the country i am able to vote in. I don't vote per say for personal gain but for the gain of the country. As that is how i vote i tend to lead Conservative because of their general focus on self economy along with other things. Stimulating our economic growth blah blah blah. But yah~ i probably can't take a vote this year. I'll just have to watch and see what lying manipulative cat will win this time cause lets face it, that's all they do

NDP can't represent the commies, because there already is a communist party (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communist_Party_of_Canada). NDP is like diet communist or communist light.

No idea who I am voting for this time around. Voted Conservative the last two elections but this time around I don't know. Don't like where the Conservatives are headed, not big on the NDP and not sure about the Liberals. Greens are a no-go in my books.

Well, just need to keep an eye on all the bull crap that'll be flying around and try to pick the best of a poor selection.

Anybody but Harper. Had enough of this anti-democratic ass.

The OP is wrong about one thing. A failed confidence vote does not necessarily lead to a new election. If another coalition believes it has the confidence of parliament (170 seats) it can form a new government. It was to avoid this fate that Harper prorogued parliament and earned the distinction of the only prime minister in all the histories of all the parliaments of the commonwealth to be cited for contempt of parliament, He managed this three times.

O Canada! The land of Mounties and beavers and hockey and...hate speech tribunals? Yes, it's no secret that Canada is no friend of free speech, and as citizens get fined for criticizing police and lawyers get prosecuted for criticizing a government agency, things are only getting worse....

Seems like it doesn't matter who wins, the people are screwed either way

Holy crap! They have elections in Canada?!?!

I thought the candidates just went to a hockey game and the last ones to pass oot from drinking or get knocked oot in a fight won by default.

Sorry, I'm just joking. I love you brothers and sisters to the North.

Good luck with it. Hope you get better politicians than we have in the States.

Just kidding, We have trial by moose. It's like trial by ordeal or single combat, but it tests your ability to persuade a moose to acknowledge your existence. You'd really think the Green Party would be better at this. -sigh-

The last time I voted was for NDP, and that was when Jack Layton was alive. V
Now, I don't know who to vote for.

New Democratic Party (Commie Party)
Leader: Thomas Mulcair
Status: Official Opposition
American Equivalent: Bernie Sanders

The NDP is the socialist (well it used to be), social democratic party of Canada. Usually the smallest party, it found major success in the last election when it received the status of Opposition for the first time in its history when it broke the two party gridlock between the Conservatives and the Liberals (at the expense of the Bloc Quebecois). Their new leader, Mulcair, has been removing references of socialism from the party's platform for the upcoming election and moved the party closer to the center. So now the NDP is basically running on the slogan of "a bit more leftist than the Liberals!"
