Hmm, is TWGOK a romcom?

For me, I think maybe Kaichou wa Maid-sama

Great characters, quite funny, and an interesting romantic dynamic between the main two.

There are others that are funnier, and others that are more romantic, but to me the quintessential romantic comedy doesn't excel at either, yet is decent at both.

NANA.

But also some noticeable names to come in mind are: Kimi ni Todoke, Ao Haru Ride, and ....maybe Kamisama Kiss.

NANA is probably my favorite romance, but is it comedy? I dunno, seems more like a drama to me

Can't go past Lovely Complex as the best pure romantic comedy anime/manga of all-time.

Koukou Debut, which is unfortunately only a manga at this stage is up there as well.

Ichigo 100% (manga is far superior to the anime) is also quite a good romantic comedy, while there are harem elements, it actually contains well fleshed out main characters and a nice/semi-realistic story.

Hana Yori Dango and Mitsuru Adachi works (Cross Game, Rough, Touch) are very good as well, but probably more fittingly belong to the Drama and Sports genres respectively, although they both contain a mixture of romance and comedy.

That is my choice for manga. Great series from the same magazine as My Love Story.

For anime? ... Hard to say. I think I prefer romantic drama to romantic comedy, for the most part. I would say His & Hers Circumstances, but the manga has so much more content that I cannot have that be an honest choice.

Chuunibyou is up there for me. Choosing best would be difficult considering how many I've watched

Hard topic to decide on as I haven't watched as many RomComs. I only got into them within the past few years.

Like others have picked, Toradora is my favorite in the genre, but I am not sure if it is the best. The animation style, age of characters, setting, plot and sometimes drabness of color palette might be a turn off to some. But, personally I love it.

I will throw The Familiar of Zero out here. I know it isn't a strict RomCom but I adore this show (as evident by my avatar). It really has it all. Action, comedy, ecchi, romance, etc. Once again though with the characters being so young, us older fans might view it in a different light.

I would like to discover a Rom/Com maybe set in a more "adult" setting. No, I don't mean Hentai but maybe at least in college or an office/work situation, etc. Or if it has to have kid and high school, have the main characters and focus be on the teachers and their work/romantic relationships? I dunno. Getting off track here.

For right now I will say Toradora.
