Two hours. Is it short or not enough?
Three hours. Just right?
Four hours or more. Too much? It gets boring fast?

What is your ideal party if you're having one?

I'm not an expert because I've only gone to one party in the past two years, but three hours sounds a little short.

I wanna rock and roll all night, and party every day.

If it's hyped then 2 hours.

But if the party is straight up bad I'll stay 30 minutes until I bust out.

I think 2-3 hours would be fine in my opinion.

Depends who you're with.

A party can last the whole evening/night if half of the people in it or more are friends.

If I only know one or two people in it, I get bored after less than a hour, then find a convenient excuse to leave.

The length of a party is an indicator as to how well the party is going.

Depending on the size of the party, another indicator is the ratio of passed out people to still partying people. You want about 10% passed out and 90% still going about midway through the party, but by the end it should be reversed to 90% passed out and 10% still hanging in there.

How long a party lasts depends on the host. I once went to a party that lasted 3 days. I bowed out after some hours on the first day, big sis on the other hand, just went home, changed clothes refreshed and returned to the party. She had the stamina to last the 3 days. A guest can also choose how long they'll stay at a party. I heard there was this place that had a curfew up because of troubles. I'd have thought that they would have stopped the partying at that period. That didn't happen, people just held curfew parties. You went in at 6pm and you didn't leave until after dawn the next day.

A small dinner party at a restaurant may last around 3 hours but other types of partying tend to go on longer.

About 10 seconds.
step 1: Walk in front door.
step 2: collect party bag.
step 3: walk out back door
step 4: go home and eat candy.

I think it's also smart to think of what type of party it is....

like if it was a sleepover party should last much longer than like a dinner party

Depends on what type of party really. In general I think a party that's not at your own house shouldn't last more than four hours, a house party can go on for as long as it needs to provided you don't disturb the neighbors or do anything illegal. Work parties shouldn't last more than two and a half hours if held at the office, six hours if the company's rented a place.

Long enough that it doesn't reach 3 AM.
