The other possible bonus to CR getting God Eater is that CR might get Concrete Revolutio next quarter as well.

Well, that's not really what bothers me. It's that Crunchyroll is excluding part of their consumer base. That's not good.
Basically, what you're saying is that since I can watch it on Daisuki, it doesn't matter. That means God Eater on Crunchyroll doesn't matter to begin with, but it obviously does. See the issue?

Also, there are 17 shows that I can watch on Daisuki. Three of which are ongoing, and most of them can be watched on Crunchyroll. I also want to point out that the price for Premium is the same no matter where you live, but not the same amount of content for everybody. Nobody likes region locks.

Clicked on the posted God Eater link. Clicked on "add to queue" on God Eater page. Went to queue. Scrolled down to find Kanokon was added instead.

Thank you Crunchyroll for getting God Eater for South America. I was hoping I could watch it here.

Not true, the UK price is fixed at £4.99 GBP per month, so actually works out as slightly more expensive than in the US and Eurozone, despite having less content than the US.

Also, I'm sure Crunchyroll would buy worldwide rights to all their titles if they could, but in reality it doesn't work like that. As much as it is disappointing when Crunchyroll don't get the rights to a title you really wanted in your region, just grumble and move on, they're clearly not doing it to spite you.

However, if they pull a One Piece HD and insist on advertising it at every possible opportunity, even in regions where it's not available, then you can go off on one...

It's not Crunchyroll that is excluding part of their customer base, it is the licensor. Crunchyroll streams to everywhere they get the rights to.

Sure it's annoying when the licensors do that ... heck, you should see what choices I have when I am in Beijing teaching, given that the Chinese rights normally go to Chinese streaming companies (who subtitle in Mandarin so that I cannot use their site to follow the shows). I go from feast to famine when I get on the plane to go back to work for the new semester. But its not Crunchyroll doing it.

And it's normal for people to advise where else you can watch it legally when the licensor does that ...

... but they are just trying to pass on the information, not trying to construct an argument about that making it "OK for Crunchyroll to exclude you" ... because the premise of the latter is incorrect, as noted above.

If you mean the two dubs, I would certainly be surprised if they were censored. Library titles provided by a home video distributor are normally the same video that is on the BD/DVD.

It's of course not their fault that things end up that way, but this happens many times, and I can't help but to think "why?"
If they can get a license for some countries, why wouldn't they be able to get one for others? I just don't see the point. I'm thinking that it might be a monetary thing, where they simply don't have enough income from the non-licensed countries and therefore can't afford to license it. That brings up another problem though.
If there are fewer shows to watch, there's fewer possibilities to get income, and premium isn't as appealing. The potential customers might be more than they are aware of.

If it isn't a monetary issue, then I honestly don't know what the problem would be. The cause is obviously the licensor, but that doesn't say much.

In the end, I'd honestly just want to get a clear answer as to why this happens.

Perhaps somebody else has the rights? All of the other Aniplex shows Crunchyroll didn't get ended up on Viewster in Scandinavia. Perhaps Viewster also has God Eater, but aren't saying until they can confirm release details?

There are also some companies (TBS seems to be the primary example here) that will insist on splitting rights up by territory and/or region and will only sell them to companies within that territory/region, so it's possible they wouldn't be allowed to buy them even if they wanted to.

The truth, rather depressingly, is that North America is where all the money is (followed by French-speaking territories and then probably Italy), and everywhere else CR can get is just a bonus. It's disappointing to realise you don't matter, but anything CR can get is better than nothing.
