What's your take on this climate change initiative? Personally I think it's a step in the right direction, and hopefully more will be done to guarantee a sustainable future for ourselves and our descendants.

Reading up a bit about it, it sounds good to me. It essentially mandates a fairly significant reduction in CO2 emissions from Power Plants over the next 15 years. The effect wont be astronomical, but it doesn't seem like it will hurt.

"but global warming is a guberment conspiracy!!!!"

We're trying to take more steps to ensure an environment where future humans can survive and people are bitching about "electric bills soaring", the industry is already turning away from coal and starting to look at natural gas and wind so you'll be just fine.

I can afford to pay extra for a cleaner environment, it's really np, but some of the people I care for that live in poverty cannot afford even a bit tacked onto their bills. There's always pros and cons to these things.

Maybe we should talk to China about their emis- oh yeah, they have our balls.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's all bad. If I was just thinking about my own conditions, this is a great thing. Just hard not to think about those I have to worry aren't even eating enough as it is. Everything has a price, I'm hoping this won't affect bills too much, but that may be naive to think.

Well that's good news. China's emissions are severely out of control, about damn time.

While it is nice that measures are finally being taken so that the whole planet doesn't die, it is probably too late to stop the arctic ice caps from melting. We should start investing into new housing and land development for when the ocean rises, so that refugees from sea level would have somewhere to live.
