In case you don't know, Wizard World is an offshoot of Wizard Magazine that host conventions around the country. And not just big cities like Philadelphia and Chicago but also places like Raleigh, North Carolina and Richmond, Virginia. I just got back from the Richmond one yesterday and attended the one in Raleigh just this past March. I think its great who they are able to bring. William Shatner was at both of the cons, (yeah, its not a con without a "Star Trek" cast member or two). The Raleigh con also had Sean Austin (Samwise from LOTR) and "Doctor Who's David Tennant among other guests while the Richmond one had Billy Boyd (Pippin from LOTR), Billie Piper (Rose from "Doctor Who") and Linda Blair ("The Exorcist" still scares me after all these years). Not to mention the artists. At the Richmond con, I managed to meet Greg Horn (he does great artwork based on comic book characters), and Ken Kelly, a well established fantasy artist best known for doing the cover art for the Kiss album Destroyer as well as having a winning way of drawing hot looking warrior women. And of course there's the cosplayers and the venders selling all kinds of cool stuff.

Now on the subject of Wizard World themselves, they have more than twenty cons per year and there already have a number of dates already booked for 2016. The website lists cities like Las Vegas, St Louis, Fort Lauderdale, Portland, Greenville, New Orleans, and Austin to name only a few. I think its great that they are planning cons across the country and going to places who don't have a con of their own. By the way, I'm going to Dragon Con in Atlanta next month, but hey, that is something I can't do every year (went to my first DC two years ago).
