Yamstarch, I can think of an example of what you're talking about, but it's not anime-related. I was a member of a certain appliance collector forum, in which the bias was heavily towards vintage appliances. Often, when a member posted about a new or newer appliance, it was dismissed out of hand merely BECAUSE it was new, and, of course, vintage must be better than new, right? At any rate, that was one of the reasons I left that forum, and I think it illustrates the point you were making.

"Old X vs. New X"
This is used in virtually any fandom.

Anime fans want the perfect anime with plot and illustration we strive for quality not shit animation or CG and storylines that have been done to death like or I'm stuck in a game again or I cant talk to my childhood friend cause I love her blush sweat. When anime lovers see great show we want the next to be better or at the minimum the same simple yet not done enough

Because its the Internet. My best anime friend IRL was a opinionated asshole at first but now he has mellowed out.

You say it, no matter how good it is still crap to someone out there, its a matter of perspective.
The new ones form the masses that see anime, and they tend to judge more badly on old stuff.
Since it was not created for them, they will review them as negative.

Nobody wants to be called a weeaboo, so everybody says that anime is trash.

Because they're probably all insecure, have low self-esteem & extremely lonely.

That's usually why a narcissist is a narcissist.

People like to complain I hung around 4chan long enough to deal with any negativity and not take things so personally.

I don't think it's narcissism, really. The "caustic critic" trope is just really easy to fall into.

Is every anime that comes out really crap? Or are we really that bitter that we just need to tear down things that other people like?

Not limited to anime...It's everywhere and it's a disease.

Some people are elitists, some people set their expctations too high, some people are just fussy, some are just bitter, some judge without really giving it a go, some simply refuse to like what everyones likes/go out of their way to be different/not be a follower, some just troll, etc.
As said, its not just anime, i see the same thing at video game forums, hip hop forums, etc. Some people are impossible to please. Again, peoples expectations are often too high. The more something is hyped up, the harder it is to meet expectations.

First of all, I wouldn't say narcissistic is the right word in this case. An anime will always be crap to someone else purely because it doesn't cater to what they like. Some people will watch an anime for no reason other than finding something to hate about it. People complain about things they don't like. The difference between complaining about an anime you don't like and complaining just to drag it through the mud is that in one you're simply giving your thoughts while in the other you're going out of your way to make it sound worse than it actually is through exaggeration.

You see this kind of thing all the time in Music/Anime/TV/Gaming Communities. Once you've seen it enough times you just get used to it and learn to ignore the haters.

People who get nervous break downs over having their anime insulted probably don't see problems beyond their world.

Anime is designed for entertainment, and not as a mission statement to guide your life by.Many people need to keep that in perspective.
