Post Reply Autoplay appeared, Chromecast stopped working

A few days ago it appeared that an auto-play slider button was added to the top right hand corner of the Crunchyroll anime web player interface - at the same time the Chromecast support seems to have been broken, on Android at least.

I tested with the auto-play setting both in the on and off positions, but the same thing occurs each time: The Crunchyroll Ready To Cast screen appears and then I get a blank screen with half the buffering logo (half-circle of dots) frozen on the screen. I can disconnect from Chromecast in the Crunchyroll app, but the TV screen stays frozen. Trying to cast from Crunchyroll App again makes no change to the TV screen. If I switch to another Android App, and use its Chromecast feature, it connects fine and the stream to the TV appears.

All my other Chromecast-ing is working as per usual, and my current work-around is to use the Chromecast Android App "Cast Screen to TV" BETA feature get Crunchyroll on to my TV, but it is not a stable fix.

I have been using my Samsung Android device to cast to my Samsung TV since the announcement that the Samsung TV app would be de-supported. I have had version 1.1.4 (latest available version) of the Crunchyroll Android App installed on my device since June, and have not had major issues until this problem occurred at the end of July 2015.

Would the fact that the Crunchyroll app on my device has not changed, but that auto-play has been introduced into the interface, imply an update was made to a different component of Crunchyroll's streaming service? If so, has this tested against use of Chromecast from the Crunchyroll Android App?

I saw there was a thread under Apple/IOS with recent Chromecast issues, and seems that a couple of older threads with Chromecast issues have had new posts in the last few days, but I didn't see any mention of the auto-play change. I thought it was worth creating a new thread as it seemed to be a change specific issue, and was curious where other users experienced the same situation.

I have the same issue, I can't cast from the android app any more because it freezes, the spinner with the circles is not even animated.
If you leave it open long enough eventually the android app crashes too.
Casting works fine from the browser on the computer.

Same issue on iOS, the new version won't cast. I get the ready screen, but trying to play just stalls forever.

We just released an update for the chromecast app to address the issue. Please let me know if you are able to cast to it again after an update.

I just installed the latest update but I'm still unable to use Chromecast. The icon disappeared completely from the menus and it's greyed out when playing a video. I've tried restarting the app, my phone, my chromecast, etc several times over the last few days. Galexy Note 4 here.
