I have heard this from a lot of South Americans. Why is this? Why is this country in particular so loathed?

Fun story. On one of my trips to Japan, the sales VP of a company we do business with, took me to the Oshino Hakkai springs. There were large signs up that said to not throw things in the pools (namely coins), however the pools were filled with coins. When I commented on the rather large amount of American coins in the pools, one of the two assistants that accompanied the VP told me "It was probably the Koreans trying to frame the Americans". I lol'd pretty hard.

I hope the animosity between Japan and Korea lessens, so this bill might indeed be a good thing for the two nations.

I'd assume envy. If it was only the one hater, i'd think different but when we go with what is supposedly a hate by many towards the one...

Argentia has had a number of very successful football players, could be that *shrug*

if no law can fix racism, should there not be any laws against racism?

should racist be allowed to practice racism or sexism because no law can stop them?

than what should be done about racists if no law can stop them?

Should people allow themselves to harassed bullied or even killed by racist because laws have no affect on racist?

Should people fight against racism?

Explain all that please.

Well for the most part, i think this is about money. It's needed for Japan, S. Korea, England and the US to work together in the coming years.

A lot of Argentinians think they're better than the rest of Latin America because they're white.
They think the rest of the continent (especially Mexico) is filled with inferior half breeds.

More than anything else I had a suspicion it was that, and I was right. I just wanted someone to clarify. Ah well, being light skinned with Caucasian features is a big deal in South America.

How amusing, considering that South America's first peoples were brown skinned folks of the land - not their European invaders.

Anyway, for being light skinned, Argentina is still disliked by a lot of Europeans as well.

Oh boy, talk about irony.

Btw, I fucking love your avatar, 10/10.

Even Chile, which is pretty white by Latin American standards, doesn't like them.
The joke in Latin America is that they might be white but they're still poor like everybody else!

Thanks for love towards my avatar!

Amid a recent rise in discrimination against ethnic Koreans, Japanese lawmakers debated Tuesday a bill that would ban racial discrimination, including harassment and hate speech. Under the proposal, the government would be required to create anti-discrimination programs that report every year to lawmakers, the Japan Times reported.

The bill does not include punitive provisions and is opposed by the ruling Liberal Democratic Party. Its supporters include the Democratic Party of Japan and the Social Democratic Party. Lawmakers were slated to discuss the measure again Thursday.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told lawmakers in February that racial discrimination, including hate speech, should never be tolerated in Japan. But he said a new law was not necessary, arguing that the government should instead use existing laws to deter discrimination.

But Komeito lawmaker Toru Kunishige said current laws apply only to defamation and insults against specific individuals. Hate speech against unspecified people of a racial group is not illegal in Japan.

The United Nations' Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination urged the Japanese government last year to regulate hate speech by law after attacks on Korean residents. Roughly 600,000 Koreans are permanent residents or citizens of Japan, many of them forcibly brought there during Japan's 1910-1945 colonial rule of Korea.

Of 203 Korean residents ranging in age from their teens to their 30s who responded to a 2013 survey, more than 80 percent said they were aware of or had experienced hate speech. Last year, a nongovernmental group said it would start a counseling service for young ethnic Koreans because of growing anti-Korean sentiment.

In the past, Koreans in Japan have been denied access to healthcare and education. Protests against Koreans have seen demonstrators chant slogans such as "Roaches," "Go Back to Korea" and "Let's Kill Koreans."

The Japanese are getting soft they should expel all foreigner and begin a military build up...

Argentina was universally loathed during the WC as well. Even if people liked their team, they wanted to annihilate their country. Well, at least they weren't slaughtered like Brazil was during their match..ugh.

The Japanese are xenophobic. Even to other East Asians. Given the younger generation is a bit more accepting but it comes to me as no surprise that they'd be discriminatory towards Koreans. Let alone the Chinese. Those three don't get along as is, given the heinous events that happened during WWII, though let's face it Japan were the main aggressors there.

It's awful that they had to make a law to stop discrimination against naturalized Japanese zanichi, even if they're ethnically Korean. They're still freakin' Japanese citizens, they deserve the rights everyone else has there. Racially homozygous my ass, Japan, you need to learn to be more accepting.

Not just Japan though. I cant even go back to my homeland, Italy. They're so racist and xenophobic there that anyone not purely Italian is pretty much trash. Migrants come from Africa and live a life of hell there.

I thought we killed the dictator.

As for Japan and Korea, the younger generation are the harbingers of peace.

No, its actually the minority of people that are openly racist and hateful. Its just that these are the people that you will constantly hear about in the news which can make you think everybody is like that.

Racism definietly needs to end, at this point its just ridiculous for anyone to think they are better than anyone else based solely on skin color, nationality, age, weight, etc.

To sum things up, watch anime, tell the racists to lay off the haterade.
