The more anime you watch, the more you'll think, "Wow, this character totally reminds me of a different one..."

It used to bother me a little in the past, but I really don't mind it anymore. It's a part of anime.

Despite the similarities LL is still entertaining as was K-On, and IMHO they still have quite different premises, idols /=/ school band. I mean, sure, they're both performers but they're far from the same thing, just b/c both shows involve cute moe girls doesn't mean the content is the same

Mio is still best girl though.

Eh, she's my second fav to mugi. Dem brows get me.

What I personally like about similar characters is the headcanons that can spawn, especially from two characters that look alike enough to be parent / child, or siblings, or blah blah blah. Kyoani's gotta be the worst when it comes to characters that have similar likenesses because their style since K-On has been very cutesy, well animated but still very moe moe which means there's a lot of likenesses there. Heck, I ship the guys from Free! with some of the K-on girls, even as I still think both sets have the potential to be bisexual.

I watched Love-Live about a year after season 2. Had that show in my list from when the first show of season 1 was aired just never watched it. Wish I watched it sooner, but I'm glad I did leave it in my queue to get to it eventually. I loved the show (Maki is my favorite character). I have not watched K-on before so I'll have to add it to my list.

You didn't have to go to K-on. Just the LoveLive girls themselves all have the same faces.

Make no mistake, I love LoveLive... just pointing it out.

Girls of K-On and Love Live, as seperate series, of course, all have similar character designs that're present in all the characters minus a few different eye shapes, hair colors, skin tones, etc. Like if you took their hairstyles away and changed their skin tone, got rid of all discernible markings, and made their eye color the same? there'd be definite trouble telling who was who, but I still think the designs are cute nonetheless, despite the fact that in either case they're obviously not aiming to make them 100% distinctive.
