I met my boyfriend at our church's high school group. I had just moved to Colorado earlier that month, and he was the first to introduce himself to me. We found out that we both were seniors at the same high school, and that we even had the same homeroom together. He was the chill musician type, and I thought he was the coolest person ever. After we graduated we continued to hang out a lot since we both went to the same church. We'd go on all sorts of adventures and he introduced me to so many of my now good friends. Around mid November (just a year into living in CO), he gathered up the courage to ask me out. But it totally took me off guard and I declined at first, totally putting him into the "friend zone". But he continued to pursue me and after praying together about it for weeks, we decided to give the relationship a try.

Almost 5 years later, he's hinting about proposing soon! We'll see what happens.

We graduated the same year in high school, so I knew him since we were in our teens. And now were in our twenties, and it was like more than two years since we've seen each other. And we ran into each other at the super market, lol.

Internet.

First we hated each other. But once we got to know each other, we noticed we're not so different, & agree with our ideas/views, are don't oppose to the ones we have that dont match.
Also he sorta fell in love with me first, for quite a while too. Didn't tell me though til we net IRL at a weird tine ad well...
He cared about me, he was there for me, nice to me.
Idk how I fell for him which felt kinda sudden. Because it didn't happen til last year.

I love though. We have our fights, but make up in the end anyway.

We met when we were 16 at college. We met through our friend group, I had just met one and she introduced me to the gang. I had a huge crush on the guy but I never had the guts to say anything. Four years later when my first boyfriend and I split up, he invited me out to cheer me up. A few weeks later he asked me out "before anyone else did" and told me he had a crush on me in college too.

We've now been together for four years and live together. We plan on getting married after I finish uni next year.

I met my now husband during a night out with my best friend - she knew him for a few years before I met him. I know it sounds tacky, but the moment we were introduced I knew he would be special to me. We went on a couple dates and we started officially dating soon after. We had a long distance relationship for two full years before we could move in together - He was in the military at the time, and was always gone on taskings or he was deployed somewhere overseas. Plus, he lived 5000 Km away from me. He visited when he could and so did I. I moved across the country to live with him after I finished college. We have now been married for almost a year, and have been together for almost six years I'm a lucky gal

Met my wife in college. We were in different programs (IT for me, Accounting for her) but had one common course together. Things just clicked for both of us. Dated for two years and got married and have been married for 18 years, have two kids, one of which is an anime lover like me.

My wife is a bit like Taiga from Toradora to be honest...short and has a fiery temperment
But I love her!

I was on fb looking for a friend, (couldn't remember her name if it was rachel, rochelle, or rebecca).....we were coworkers I Only heard her name once and that was during black friday. so couldn't hear her over customers
saw someone who popped up cuz she was friends with everyone I knew from highschool, thought "wow.....she has huge breasts" added her,...next day she accepts, after half an hour of flirting (no talking, not even small talk) we become FWB, found out she had a bf (long distance open relationship) she started getting uber jealous of me and other girls (when nothing was going on) her bf got angry about her feelings for me, broke up with her, I asked her out,
we started dating for a few months

I was at language school in Monterey, and he was at the Naval Post Graduate school doing some kind of advanced cultural program. I had gone back home to Texas for July 4 week with my family, and he got called back to Virginia by his Marine Corps unit because they needed him for something they had going on in DC that apparently would have resulted in nuclear fallout if he hadn't been there to fix it. He was pissed off from that, and the thunderstorms in Dallas keeping our plane grounded for hours after it was supposed to have taken off made everything even worse because there was a danger for him that if he missed any class and/or wasn't able to turn in his weekend assignment on time, he would be dropped from the class. So when he looked up to see me standing right in front of him, unaware that he existed, and felt like he was supposed to talk to me, he (proverbially) crossed his arms in stubborn annoyance and tried to ignore me for hours as our flight got delayed over and over again, even though every time he looked up he saw me and the feeling came back over him. He finally breathed a small sigh of relief when boarding was announced and we got in line to get on the plane.

When our flight finally arrived in San Francisco, we had already missed the last flight to Monterey until 8am the next morning - I had embarked upon my return trip to Monterey at 11am, and it was almost 1am. His travel had begun even earlier that day, and he had traveled twice as far. But when he found me directly in front of him once again in the airline office where we would need to get our boarding passes switched, he decided to give in to whatever power was funneling us together and he struck up a conversation with me. Having overheard me on the phone talking to my dad about when I would be able to get back to the school in Monterey, he asked what language I was studying and began talking to me about foreign cultures and language structures (haha we're nerds). I had first noticed him, tall and kind of handsome in his australian style hat, while on the phone in line, so I wasn't even aware that we had even been on the same flight and was really surprised that he even spoke to me.

Finally it was my turn at the desk, and I got my boarding pass changed and stepped out of the office to scope out the airport for a wall to throw my bag against and lean on to catch some Z's. Next thing I knew, he tapped me on the shoulder from behind and said "Follow me, I'll take care of you" as he walked quickly past me. In spite of having thoughts like "UH...WHAT DO I DO?", "Is this a bad idea?", "Will following him make it harder to get back to my gate in time?", "I have no idea where he wants me to go...", "Why would I follow him when I don't even know him?" and "What if I go and he ends up killing me or worse?", I actually felt like I should go with him, even against my better judgement. So I did.

It turned out to be the best stupid risk I ever took, because we ended up spending the night in a hotel room with separate beds, and after spending the next two hours trying to convince me that Green Lantern is better than Batman (which he failed to do, but I appreciated that he didn't come at me with the asinine, ridiculous and overdone Superman comparison) he invited me to go see The Dark Knight Rises when in would come out a few weeks later and I accepted. We went to sleep for a couple of hours, then checked out and took the shuttle back to the airport to catch our flight to Monterey, and he decided to officially end our first meeting by coming up behind me at the baggage claim and moving me on top of an X taped onto the floor to see if a piano would fall from the sky and land on my head.

We're obviously perfect for each other.

As the title says, how did you meet your significant other? If you had been friends for a while, what was your big "aha!" moment? You can even say how you met an ex-partner that meant a lot to you, it's all good.

I met my husband on a blind date, his friend was dating my friend and they figured we would like each other. We went out to sushi together as a double date on Valentine's Day (accidentally, not planned) and then later he and I hung out for a few hours watching Yugi-Oh! Abridged.

I meet my wife at a D&D game, and we spent a lot of time together as best friends both playing tabletop RPG's and LARP's.
