I have this one where I found a day pass to seaworld and it's dated 05/09/99
So in 84 years, I'm going to go there and get a free pass minus the cost of the plane ticket to get to america.

What evil schemes have you come up with.

Yes. The good ol' days of Diablo 2.

There was a low level sword called Azurewrath in patch 1.09 and before, I think. It looked like another sword, Lightsabre. On the trading screen, you won't know the difference unless you put your cursor over the item to look at the stats. I would put up Lightsabre first and move it around the trade screen so they'd know I had one, but after they placed their item on their trade screen, I'd put the Azurewrath instead, and some people will accept without checking the sword again.

This worked with a few items, actually. Another popular one was Harlequin Crest (Shako). I'd socket a low level cap with an emerald to make it turn green, since the Shako was basically a green cap.

Basically, as long as you could get an item that looked like a high-level unique (and you actually also had that same high-level item), you could pull off this "scam."

I didn't scam many people since I felt bad about it. Under 8 times for sure. Not too bad, since I played D2 for nearly 8 years.

I have this awesome idea about taking over the world using spiders...wait, why should I tell you?

Self-serve restaurants say they have free refills. They do not explicitly say they are only free for that visit. I've never done this, but hypothetically it's a scam that might work. If someone tries this it's not my fault. I was just spitballing an idea.

No. Not really.

As a community administrator on a game site, I don't have the heart to scam anyone. It's easy to do to people online, especially on video games. I got the messages with younger kids literally crying over it. Like literally, literally. My younger sister once got an account scammed as well and cried about it, I fixed that shit so fast you had to wonder how I did it. It's a little different when you're dealing with the people upset about it, especially when they spend so many hours over something.

I sold a kid at my high school a pair of headphones, but one of the sides didn't work. I felt bad though and gave him his money back.

Gah! I had somebody scam me with an emerald socketed shako. Only lost a Corpsemourn so I just laughed with the scammer about it. I never got scammed again in any other game after that though.

Haha, someone pulled it off on me for Chance Guards, so it wasn't a big loss here, either. Red chain gloves with fire resist or something. I didn't scam because I needed the items, it was mostly just for fun, heh. I had so many accounts and did like a billion Hell Baal runs and Hell Meph runs so I was usually drowning in uniques. It was runes that I needed the most later on, but there were plenty of people willing to trade duped runes for cheap so that wasn't really something to scam for. Just had to make sure you had the proper item with the sockets as well as all the other required runes before trading, since the duped runes sometimes disappeared if you exited and made/entered a new game. Someone traded me a Zod for something stupid like a Homunculus that I didn't need, so I learned something from that since I exited the game and the rune vanished.

Come to think of it, I only found 1 or 2 SOJs during my D2 career, which was very weird. But I was using other rings and didn't really miss not using SOJs. Plenty of BK's rings and I needed lifesteal for my Zealots so I'd use Carrion Wind.

Brings back memories. I played the crap out of that game like 10-15 years ago. I never had more than 2 accounts, but me and my brother did a lot of MFing as well.

Yeah, lots of great times with that game. It was junior high to high school era for me. I've had at least 8 main accounts and always began each new account with a Sorc since Teleport was the essential skill. The idea was to get to Nightmare Meph and keep killing him until I had enough items to do Hell Meph. Then, I'd make the other characters in the account. 4 socket Perfect Topaz armor + Tarnhelm = Poor man's MF gear.

So many good memories. Gambled a Tal Rasha amulet with my friend's account while he was in the bathroom and when he got back, he wouldn't believe me. Found an ethereal Skulder's from a casket and a second one from some random undead Fetish when on my way to kill Meph. Got banned once for maphacking even though I didn't since I was completing my MF runs too quickly (I memorized the general layouts of Durance of Hate level 2). Played D2 with my girlfriend back then as well, she used a Whirlwind Assassin and I was using a Zealot. Found a perfect Nagelring from a random coffin in Act 2 Nightmare with my friend in the same game and he also found a Nagelring in the same tomb....but mine was better so I laughed at him. Stored up a ton of absorb % gear that I would wear whenever dueling a Sorc just to frustrate my opponent. My first Barb in my noob days found a Gull Dagger from a Zombie in Act 1 Normal and my friend NPCed it since it "did low damage." We also invested skill points into like 4 different masteries. I made a Nova Sorc for Hell Pindleskin runs RIGHT BEFORE patch 1.10 came out and butchered Nova. So fun. Too bad D3 isn't nearly as big.

In an MMORPG called Realm of the Mad God there were a lot of times where I took advantage of the market if that counts. I would buy a 'Potion of Life' for five 'Potion of Defense', then resale the 'Potion of Life' for six 'Potion of Defense'. Quick way to make a profit.
