So i was on instagram and i followed filthycasualco a while back and noticed lately they have been saying to follow them or whatever for a chance at a free crunchyroll month membership. not that i need one but Ok sounds cool like they support crunchyroll and whatnot. But what about the fans? i'm not sure if you all know what weeaboo means but its a derogatory term used for putting down white anime fans, which to me seems pretty crappy to say to anyone if you are trying to support anime culture..so i unfollowed them. Dont know if its really a big deal but im bored so...comments?

Weeaboo originated from the word wapanese (wanna be japanese). It's original meaning wasn't to offend anyone but rather to show that someone like the Japanese culture. However over sensitive people on the internet gave the word a negative meaning since they got butthurt everytime someone used the word to the point that it's now become a word against people who like Japanese culture... So in other words it probably isn't meant as something offensive, people just take it as offensive

*looks them up*

They don't even have any anime stuff. This doesn't make sense.

yeah. the whole thing was people were mad because they followed them because they were posting pics of an anime convention and supporting crunchyroll, only to find that they actually dont post any of that stuff usually.

I've even seen people claiming phone manufacturers of being racist just 'cause they've made a white phone. I've also seen people claiming things like white people wearing black shirts is racist.

My point being that people think everything is offensive these days, people should grow some balls and learn how to stand up for themselves instead of just pointing fingers at people claiming they're racist, sexist, offensive and etc. Also the people who use it to put people down will stop using this word when people learn how to ignore it... Meaning that your a part of the problem since you got offended by someone using the word. The best tactic is someone says something you don't like is just to ignore it and move on whit life

Weeaboo isn't just white people, it's any fan of anime that's fricken annoying. There are weebs that come into the bookstore I work at all the time and they're loud and obnoxious and act like they're five years old. THAT is the pure definition of a weeaboo. They tend to only like the super mainstream stuff and won't actually deviate, too. If it's not Black Butler or Naruto or something like that, they've never heard of it before and shrug their shoulders and continue on about whatever their choice mainstream show is and how it's just the best fuckin thing in the entire universe.

Then if you can agree with that, why'd you unfollow them? This just seems like the weirdest thing to complain about ever.

Hey, your're the one that commented. I unfollowed them because like i said in a previous comment they actually dont post anime stuff. and also the comment they made seemed to be against the fans, whether offensive or not.

Who cares....?

As long as they support them, who cares how they actually feel about the fans tbh.

I don't think this is a big of a deal though.
They said weeaboos anyway. Not anime fans as a whole.
