You have to kill things somehow in order to eat them, but that is not the issue here. The Chinese just don't care. If the people in the video aren't chased after to be punished, that will suggest that the government doesn't care, either. I really don't think China can be a responsible superpower right now. There's just no way it can lead the world. Its government really needs a makeover. There are so many issues it's not even funny.

Not going to happen as long as we have people that believe labor is too good for us in the USA.

Eating a shark? You know how much mercury is in their bodies?

It seems like they could find something better to eat then an endangered animal.

Sharks are quite tasty. But, yeah, they aren't exactly something you want to eat every week. People should eat the small, more common species if they must. Like dogfish. They aren't too bad. There's really no need to hunt the large sharks. The Chinese also like to take their cartilage and livers in order to make some vitamin pills.

Sharks are cute tho

This is nothing to them skinning animals alive for meat. That is fucking heartbreaking.

All cultures, all countries do not treat animals humanely. Eating meat is fine - but kill the creature in a humane, painless way. Fucking cunts.

Yeah, I figured they'd eat the shit out of it. That's been going on for a millennia.

I mean, at least kill the thing before you eat it. Dear god. That and killing endangered species is a big no. We should be trying to protect the wildlife not wipe it off the face of the planet all just so we can shove our faces with some food. You can eat the species that aren't endangered, won't be any worse.

The fact that it is a vulnerable & endangered species I do not agree with, but to be completely honest i couldn't care less how it dies... If you think for one second that any animal killed by humans or even farmed feels no pain at the time of death then you simply don't live in the real world. Animals in the wild almost always die a slow death whether they're being shaken apart by a dog or crocodile, or bleeding to death from a bite. How would one even go about killing a whale shark humanly and quickly, that thing is massive.

Stabbing it in the head, or pop the gills.

Thing is that doesn't always guarantee a quick painless death, with experience from fishing, even small fish don't die straight away when stabbed directly in the head. Let alone a much larger fish.

OMFG... people are seriously little bitches these days.

The whale shark is a fish... relatively smart for a fish, but still a damned fish.

I skin fish alive all the time. The longer you keep them alive, the fresher the fish is for eating. Could they have killed the whale shark? Sure. I don't kill my fish right before skinning because it is a pain in the ass, unless you cut the heads off, and that makes them harder to clean. So is it a big deal that they didn't? Not to me, no.

People have a weird perspective on things. That shark will simply cease to exist after it dies. No memory will remain of any pain, after it is dead. The most damage that was done is overly-sensitive people taking offense. Yet... we allow all kinds of messed up things happen to people all over the world. I believe the guy above me pointed out the factory conditions... that's terrible. That's something we SHOULD be worried about. Add the fact that planet earth itself is less than a speck of dust in relation to the universe, and it just gets crazy.

If there are aliens, this is why they haven't said hello.

It was probably the way the whale dressed. The Chinese just couldn't resist. She should've known better.
