Chicago PD detain 3,500 people in secret interrogation warehouse
Posted 8/9/15 , edited 8/9/15

Newly revealed documents have shown that at least 3,500 Americans have been detained inside a Chicago police warehouse, 82 percent of whom were black. The site has been described by some as a secret interrogation facility

The Guardian reported in February that Chicago police were detaining people for days on end at a secret compound known as Homan Square

The information disclosed in the documents – obtained by the Guardian through the Freedom of Information Act – has raised concerns of civil rights violations...Although the police maintain that nothing out of the ordinary is happening at Homan Square, those who have experienced the facility say it isn't as innocent as it makes itself out to be.

One case mentions a 42-year-old civil rights activists who said he was abducted by masked officers. He claims to have been shackled and held on false charges with “no food, no water, no access to the outside world” while police continued their “covert operations.

This sounds pretty funny honestly. I don't think it's as horrifying as the media is making it look though.

Why does this sound like some North Korea shit with the gathering of these people for a secret interrogation and hinting most (if not all) were forced into it?

That total undermines the horror's north korean prisoners experience. While this is terrible and needs to be stopped (if its true) It is still nothing compared to what happens in North Korea.

It depends on the state. Some states require that everyone who gets recorded consents to being in the video. This doesn't include people who accidentally show up in the background, but it does count if you are recording a police officer committing police brutality and you don't get consent (which you obviously wouldn't because they don't want people to see it).

Here's a link to a website that states whether or not you need consent for video recording in your state: http://www.palmvid.com/content/support/legal-information-regarding-audio-and-video-recording.html

NOTE: VIDEO CONTAINS AUDIO RECORDING SO IF YOUR STATE REQUIRES "Two Party Consent" (discussed on website) YOU NEED PERMISSION TO RECORD THE PEOPLE IN THE VIDEO!

This has been public knowledge for a while.

Anyway this is absolutely horrific and finding it funny is kinda disgusting in my book.

People have the right to observe the law as long as they are not obstructing justice or tampering with an investigation (ie: recording from a safe distance)

First I thought that was a bit odd/surprising, then I noticed it was Chicago. Not surprised anymore...

I'm curious as to why they're interrogating so many there. It can't exactly be "normal" or "by the book" if they're taking people to a location like this.
