I have liked anime for over a decade now, and I'm not alone, so I don't think that the word 'fad' quite fits.

Assuming I was a teenager again, my response would probably be: "What's your point? I'm going to like what I'm going to like, and I'm not hurting anyone so I don't really care whether you think it's a fad or not." If I were mad and/or agitated at the time, I would probably shorten it to: "I don't care what you think about anime."

My folks didn't really "get" my love of anime when I was younger, but I'm pleased to report that about 8 years ago I started getting my dad into certain fighting shows, and recently my mom absolutely loved Devil is a Part Timer.

So probably the last option is closest for me, but luring the parents in by finding anime close to shows they already like might help!

Even as a kid, the correct response is "so?"

That's like people who tell me wrestling is fake, "So? I still watch it"

Devil is a Part Timer is really good though :D. Like you have to be in a certain point in your life where it can appeal to you, and luckily, I watched it when it did :D.

If I were like an elementary or junior high student and saw it, idk if it would apply because I really wasn't compelled to make cash, or was procrastinating and taking part-time jobs rather than dealing with the bigger picture.

So yeah, a situational anime. WE STILL NEED ANOTHER SEASON!

We all have one thing that others in our families would not be able to understand even if we tried explaining it.

Usually I just ignore the question. I can like whatever I want.
