Well for you and some others here that may be easy. School has never been my strong suit. Hopefully I do much better when I move onto a 4 year. But I agree, some(meaning me and others) don't always put the effort all the time to achieve higher grades. One semester I got 4 B's, now I look back and wish I put that kind of effort into every semester when I first got into my community college. But yeah, the plan may not be perfect. But I like to think free college is a step forward.

It is a move forward yea... Just so many issues the USA needs to iron out before it would even be possible. Not to mention the Right Wing will throw a bitch fit. That is always fun.

Oh yeah. I'm just waiting on the backlash to hit things like Wall Street Journal and Washington Post about how it will be a bad idea lol.

College and University mean the same thing in america. Also the US believes that having the worlds most powerful military is more important than free college education.

The free market is good but you need some rules like a referee overseeing a sporting event and I am saying this as a conservative.

College is like University for them, i think. You enter when you're 18. We pay University fees unlike Scotland.

I'm sure they can manage not wasting money on newer aircrafts that would get owned by the older F14s and yeah, make college more accessible for people.

Well either way, maybe they shouldn't just study in America. I think Norway and Sweden (maybe a few more) offer tuition free university for international students. Dunno how that all works though.

Indeed. We don't need things like Art Institute running rampant again.

Nothing is free, tax payers will foot even more of the bill than they already do. It's also worth noting tuition has increased by more than %200 of inflation. I think price controls would be better with restrictions on what they can raise rates for and regulation of the profits from college sports (since it's basically exploitation), especially at state schools. I don't think they need to raise tuition so they can pay couches half million dollar salaries.

Free college for everyone is good in theory, but the main issue would be money. How would the government be able to afford to fully pay for every single citizen that wants to go to college? How would they be able to pay for more professors? Maintenance for campuses would also be more expensive with more people having access to their facilities. How can the government pay for all of this without screwing over the average tax payer? Obama's idea of "make everything free" is only damaging our economy even more than it already is.

Until we can stabilize our economy, "free" college shouldn't happen any time soon. Instead, what we can do now is try to get colleges to stop raising their tuitions to impossibly high levels. People who went to college 20 years ago would shit bricks if they saw how absurd the tuitions are nowadays. I'm surprised it's not illegal for private colleges to charge so much.
