Dickies BBQ, Raising Cane's, or WhataBurger, they're region exclusives and if it's exclusive chances are it's going to be better than the other establishments.
If not regional, then I'd go for Jack-in-the-Box, 2 tacos and a cup of water for 0.99 is one heck of a deal.

If those are my only choices . . . McD's
Every time I have been to Burger King they get the order wrong or the food is cold or both.... My local Wendy's is the same way.

I have the opposite experience. My local Mcdonalds is the complete pits, BK is just alright, and Wendy's is the cat's meow.

Not to derail the topic, but as a teen I worked one summer at a BK. It was the absolute worst job I've ever had hands down...but an eye opening experience. When you see first hand how the food is prepared at one of these fine establishments, it really puts into perspective the gamble you are taking every time you place an order.

Doesen't BK coat the burgers with something to help them smoke or something. I used to love BK but that was when I would eat at th one in Bellevue, Wa. where I used to work, 20 years ago.
If I go to the Wendy's over where I used to work in Gresham, OR.... they are awesome every time.
I guess it depends on the franchise owner and the management.

I used to work for Red Robin many years ago and some of the stuff I've seen will make you wonder. They were one of the better places for cleanliness, at least when I was there but wild shit can happen . . .
If you want to complain about things, be civil. Less likely to have strange ingredients in your food.

Not too sure about the coating thing. I was always told they would pump an artificial broiling burger smell during lunch hours, but the flame broiling of the frozen "beef" patties does a good job of that. If they are coated with something, that's a corporate secret. As you said though they could be coated with just about anything by the time it's handed to you.

BK's burgers are not made fresh. They often sit in a steamer drawer for way longer than regulation guidelines. Management does not enforce these rules, they are only concerned with drive thru times. This is why they will ask you to pull up into a spot and wait for your food. That beeping you hear is a corporate timer on how fast you should have gotten your order and been on your way. Making you pull up is an artificial way to make this timer reset. Everything else is up in the air, you will never see management in the kitchen making sure the food is being rotated or enforcing hand sanitation. It's not surprising so many on here have complained about food poisoning. If you get a Whopper and it's grey and sweaty, that's because it was made an hour ago and has been sitting in a steamer drawer. If your mayonnaise is hot, it's because the employee put it on before nuking it in the microwave...not good.

If you insist on eating there...A. Go at a busy time. Employees do not have time to think much less mess around with your food during rush times. B. Order your food fresh. It only takes a couple of minutes to run a burger through the broiler. It's going to taste better and less likely to make you sick. C. Try to be polite to the people handling your food. If you're really ticked off, ask to see the manager and let them have it.
