Things people have complimented you on that you wouldn't think anyone would?
Posted 8/11/15
Like, probably the last thing you would of expected.

I've been complimented on my fashion sense/outfits a couple of times to the point where people ask me for fashion advice every now & then?

Not that I'm complaining. I actually like it. I just never thought I was even decent in a area like fashion. I'm good with colors I guess, since I do often get compliments on my profile page or picture, or graphics I do every now & then.

People say I'm photogenic, even though I hate cameras.

My smile is the only thing that comes to mind to be honest. Anything art related is generally something I expect from people because most people seem to be scared of criticizing someone else's' art. At least face to face. It would be something I wouldn't expect if people weren't yes men though.

My booty.

Just kidding.

I have gotten compliments on my beard growth, but I expect that - when I have a full on beard, it's amazingly thick & I've known a few dudes who've had beard envy.

Yeah, outfits and stuff, the same. I don't understand it because I don't consider my clothes the height of chic or anything. I mean , I have some cute ensembles but they'd fit someone else with a better figure wayyy better than me...

Same here.

I suppose that's what happens when you rarely see the sun.

In high school we had this activity where we had to compliment the student next to us as a drama activity. The following was said to me:
"Your hair is so brown."
I wasn't sure whether I should be insulted that the person couldn't think of anything nice to say to me or whether I should feel bad for them because they clearly were not doing well in that particular exercise.

The other thing I've heard over the years is: "You have a nice butt." I have a hard time accepting this compliment as well because: 1) I can't see it that well to verify, and 2) what exactly does that do for me?. It would be nicer if people could compliment me on something that I have actually done, like if they said "You make me laugh" or "You always say the right thing" (these are just examples).

If you tell me that my hair is so brown or that my butt is nice you might as well be directing the compliment to my parents, because I didn't have anything to do with it.

I've got a big deck, that's what everyone says when they see it. I spent like 2 weeks digging post holes, setting posts, laying decking, beams, etc. In the end it was well worth it for a deck everyone can sit on and enjoy the summer days.
