Will there be amazing technologies that have fundamentally changed and enriched our lives?

Probably a few. But life will be mostly the same.

Will there be a revolution that ruined much of this country and its economy?

Unlikely. Despite its flaws America is a great place to live and has a strong economy.

will America still be the sole superpower, even if it is declining?

I don't think America is declining. Other countries are becoming more influential. The two are not mutually exclusive

Will America have reduced its involvement in Asia, e.g., leaving Taiwan up to China.

I don't know. Seems likely since China is in a better position to influence the region.

Will America have a large poor class fending for themselves in alcoholism, anger, violence, and misery?

We do already. Hopefully it gets better, not worse.

Will some states hae seceded from the Union?

No. That would indicate the entire collapse of the USA is imminent, which as I already mentioned is highly unlikely.

Will there be out migration from the United states?

I don't think so. I believe America is and will continue to be a nice place to live/work.

Or will we be about the same economically or better off?

Hopefully. Either way we will be OK.

Because Canada is too soft to do what needs to be done.

Feminism is a plague.

Maybe if there weren't so many people like you stereotyping the feminists and women in the first place and feeling threatened by them getting power, then there wouldn't be a need for feminism right now.

You want people to stop bitching, then stop bitching yourself or better yet, just ignore them.

Add an ignore button to the forum and that would make me happy.

Exactly what I said.

Plus these people bitch more so than the people who claim that bitches the most. Literally that dude always finds a way to put his anti-feminism/anti-sj "jokes" anywhere he can and its just sad.

And they say that feminism is a plague...

Do you see immigrant as a degrading word or something?
Most of us are legal immigrants, because we were born here.

Why else would the US be called the Immigrant country?
Because this country was built off of immigration.

Yes the US was built off of immigration. If you are born in the US you are not an immigrant to the US.

And that's due to the fact literally 99% of are population are immigrants.
Hence why its called the immigrant country.

anzn, where are you getting your definition of "immigrant"? I feel like once again a drama is developing because people are using the same word in different ways and getting hung up on it. It's completely reasonable fror someone to assert that immigrants are those who migrate from the country they were born in to another country, and that the descendants of those who immigrated are not themselves immigrants (unless they then move to another country.)

I don't think it's fair for you to assert that just because someone is trying to say that that's their understanding of what an immigrant is/isn't they think the word is degrading.

Anyway, I'm not even sure how this thread went down this path (been mostly skimming), so I'm just going to leave it for now.

To look forward 30 years we must look back 30 years. In 1985 cellular telephones were hardly owned by anyone at all (which is why the US is haunted everywhere by the ghosts of payphones and telephone booths), and were ghastly things which lost reception easily and looked more like bricks than telephones. It would take about a decade from that point for the commercial internet as the thing we know it to be today to become nascent, and another decade for it to begin to resemble what we have today. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and German Democratic Republic were still around, television was still conveyed in analog to antennae sticking off of the top of private residences, and the latest video game console to hit the scene was the Nintendo Entertainment System, a cartridge based 8-bit console barely able to represent people as blocky caricatures in general gameplay.

You ask me what the US will look like in 2045? The only honest answer I can give is this: I have no idea.

I'm just...we almost need a feminism general discussion thread just to migrate all this again. I thought it was funny but I might get shot for that.

Anyway 2045? Maybe there won't be an America, maybe it'll be nuked by Iran by that point.

In better scenarios we'll probably have more capable and mainstream virtual reality headsets. I also imagine we'll have something similar to Google Glass and Microsoft HoloLens, but much better. Hmmm...and we'll still be fighting in the middle east.

I agree. I don't care where a person is from as long as they immigrate legally.

I myself am an immigrant to America, my family and I left everything behind to start our lives here legally. I am very much against illegal immigration.

That is absolutely hilarious and unfortunately true of tumblr for instance. Some people in this thread need to calm the fuck down. Take a chill pill, folks.

They say it in a way that makes it seem like immigrant is a degrading term. I think thats due to them following the stereotypes & the hate propaganda against them. What he said earlier about illegal immigrants "are terrible fucks", indicates that imo.

Immigrant is often used as a insult, and being one seems like youre the worst thing ever here in America.
That's why I think people see it as a degrading term even if the meaning is as simple as "someone who migrated from another country".

I feel the word is in the same place as "gay".
People using it as an insult indicates that being gay is joke and/or terrible.
Nothing is wrong with being gay & nothing is wrong with being an immigrant either. You're no lesser or worse than everyone else if you are.
And this guy acts like they are.
