You see love is just a four letter word, and YOU have to give it a meaning yourself.

Art and love?

There are different types of art and art is very subjective.

U.S. alone have many artists that are in divorced. So yea. Love contains more than art, thirsty buddy.

"Love is when the only thing you can think of is where your partner is
Love is when you protect your partner from the wind and the rain
Love is when you hug your partner just to forget the time
Love is when you wish you could steal a star from the sky just to gift it to your partner
Love is when you write your partner's name all over the sky just to lift their spirits when they're feeling sad
Love is when your partner is all you can think of when they've gone far, far away
Love is when you instantly feel better when you have the flu from one touch from your partner
Love is when you decide the rest of your life is meaningless if your partner isn't in it
Love is when science goes out the window of your heart"

Love is when you care about someone or something else more than you care about yourself.

Love is putting yourself second and the person you love first. Love is caring for someone forever. Love is having a child and seeing a part of you growing and learning and saying they love you everyday. Love is feeling the need to take care of your mom cause she is getting old and basically its you mother who raised you.

My parents never told me to love anything, to love something is your choice you can either chose to love or hate your mother and father. I hate my father and love my mother; I love my brothers Jamie, Matt and Dan but hate my younger brother. I barely speak with my sister but I love my niece and nephew. Most important I love my best friends! I can honestly say I've never been in love with the opposite gender, I'm sure they got hurt when I said I didn't love them. (I'm just honest)

but in my personal opinion love is a weakness, never get attached to something that is as hard as rock, because it will crush you.

What if you're deaf or blind? I think experience is directly linked to your idea of love. Can you rely on your perception today? You might not be conscious of somethings either deliberately or not. So can you work out what makes love forced and therefore unauthentic? For this, you need to question what authenticity means. With that, i provide you with the link below and you may or may not take the opportunity to read:

http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/authenticity/

"A frequently mentioned worry with the ideal of authenticity is that the focus on one's own inner feelings and attitudes may breed a self-centered preoccupation with oneself that is anti-social and destructive of altruism and compassion toward others." - link

Chemical reactions. What causes them varies from person to person. There are also different degrees and durations of it.

My question to you all is, what is love? From a young age, we are told by our parents, "You must love us, you must love your siblings, and you must love God. And you must do it voluntarily and not because I told you so."

In my opinion, love that doesn't flow freely, and is forced, is not authentic, therefore is no longer love.

Because if you put your trust in someone and love them, you come to the risk of having your heart broken or them not fulfilling your expectations. Or in the earlier example, you fear that if you don't force yourself to love your parents, there runs the risk that you won't love them. But I feel like this risk has to be taken. Consider the alternative, you force yourself to display unauthentic love, which is nothing more than an act, and you spend your whole life full of resentment and unhappiness to force something that isn't there.

As Alan Watts said, "Love that is not expressed, will come out in the form of self destruction."

I get the sense that you are more interested in socially obligatory love like between a parent and child than between lovers. You are not actually obliged to love your spouse, which is why it's so wonderful in this first place.

However, family love is a bit more complicated. When it comes down to it, you will love your parents more when you let yourself not love them. It's pretty selfish for a parent to expect their children to love them just because they are family. In the future, I want to show my children how much I love them by not expecting them to love me.
