This forum needs moderators, too many over the top statements and personal attacks. I've gotten heated on here a few times as well. If their were less strict moderation, some people would end up at other posters door steps to "settle their problems",lol...

The best way is to post in the forums moderately.
Give a fuck moderately.
Please an attention whore moderately.

All in all, don't live in the forums all day long.

Not sure I'd say it's been more agressive. There have been more bans recently, but each of the banned users I've seen are known for breaking the "respect" rule in particular. I'm sure we could all name a dozen or so users off the top of our head who repeatedly do so. It would be nice to see mods keep an eye on things more often, or simply make the bans harsher.

You know... since it clearly isn't correcting any of the problem children that run about here. Some people are pretty blatant with their insults, others take the passive-agressive approach. Either way, people need to chill the fuck out and just stick to the topics.

If anything, I'd say we're pretty lenient nowadays, at least compared to before.

Unless you break the rule(s) in a serious manner and/or are a repeat offender, often you'll just get a "verbal" warning sent as a PM. If you've already been warned however, and maybe even been banned once for breaking the rules and then you break them again - we're not lenient.

The best way to behave on the forums is show respect to everyone, yes even the moderators.

I like how the moderators are here honestly. I don't think they're that strict but they'll put their foot down on people that continuously cause problems. Basically, they've found a healthy medium to please both strict rule and loose rule enthusiasts. Neither side of those will be totally happy, but they've found a happy balance. I'm pleased with it.

If they were more strict this forum would be boring to me. It's great they do allow some of the discussions that take place and attempt to even keep those discussions even after it has gotten too heated instead as opposed to preventing them all together. They're tolerant, but in a good and healthy manner that attempts to recover and provide for healthy conversation, controversial or not, as opposed to stabbing threads and users to death over general frustrations we get with each other or issues. If they did that, we wouldn't be able to have those topics at all, which would be a negative, imo, because people like me enjoy connecting with people on them.

Moderators will come in, push people apart, and clean threads instead of outright warning/banning everybody more often than not. I think they're pretty good at discerning conversations of frustration and conversations turned malicious.

If they were looser, some users would get frustrated individuals that repeatedly ruin threads or provide malicious/hostile behavior go without being punished at all.

Just do nothing to get yourself banned. This place and by extension the mods are really easygoing but like with any group of people there are those that overreact. Just don't put them in that situation because it'll be your ass.

I second that notion.

If they have rules (and they do), then they should enforce the rules. I'm not sure there's any real need for discussion here. CrunchyRoll is not the wild west, it's a private company and as such can enforce things however they want to. We all know there are boards out there who have.. very lax interpretations of what should be restricted activity.

Verbal warning is a lie. People get banned on Crunchyroll live chat without knowing why.

One could argue that the rules themselves are a verbal warning

I'm guessing live chat would have a different standard than forum postings.

Anyhow, all the mods I've spoken with seem to be reasonable and articulate people. I've posted several opinions of mine, some of which may seem extreme or controversial, on this forum. I've never been banned. Don't post disrespectfully and have some tact.

And, really, are there that many people who get banned without truly knowing why? I think people would need to be kind of dense or faking not knowing in order to claim they don't know what got them banned. And I've seen my fair share of people who got banned and who seemed to know why, but they would complain about it anyway. Like, geez, it's the same as going into someone's house and not wanting to follow the host's rules, then being surprised and wanting to sue them after they kick you out. It's just plain stupid. And also kind of twisted, to be honest. Is there a mental illness that makes people do things like that?
