Well I said I'd rather not have a discussion about god but even then you could still trace back, what is before god?

Now there's the rub, right?
While I've always been a believer myself, it never helps answer this question.
It's Like:
Religion: God created universe.
Me: Who created God?
Science: Universe created itself.
Me: OK, but where did all that hydrogen or whatever come from?

Here's the best theory I have at the moment.
All that was or will be, is. Every timeline, dimension, membrane, etc. Macrocosmic, microcosmic, there is a vastness of everythingness stretching infinitely in all directions, including directions we can barely fathom due to our 3.5 dimensional existence. God is essentially synonymous with this everythingness. Everythingness' self-awareishness, if you will. (Perhaps not the most technical terms).
The entire history of our universe is a tiny speck in all this. Nothing ever "began" in the strictest sense, because time does not exist in the manner we think it does. However, within this speck exist souls who have that limited access to the 4th dimension. The only reason the universe appears to have began is that the nature of our existence is such that we are generally required to believe that things must begin and end. (Though in reality, the idea that the past has ceased to exist once you are in the future is every bit as false as believing that your home ceases to exist when you go to work, for example)
Sorry that explanation used the word God, hopefully my thoughts are understandable.

*passes drug of choice*

At least this topic shows that intelligence does exist in some form.

We don't know what happened before the big bang, or really at what people call the big bang (the big bang theory is about what came after the singularity, not during it).

There really isn't much more to say.

I was created by a big bang, though it was more like a rhythmic series of taps that occurred over a period of a few minutes.

But the final tap was pretty big.

You say to refrain from using "God", yet you use The Big Bang theory as a main point of reference...-scratches head-
Both are technically somehow religious/scientific view points.

One of two things is true.

Either matter can be created from nothing.
or
There had always been an existence.

There is no point in our existence. We're just waiting to die.

Lol, I love threads like this that are totally based in speculation- no sarcasm, I really do love them!

At first, I thought it was very much unfair for you to immediately exclude religion from your topic, but I finished your opening post anyway, and I think I see what you're getting at. You are not asking WHAT the first object is, or exactly how WE came to be here, but how anything at all, whether it be the universe or God, can possibly exist. Is that right?

I'll wait for a reply, because I don't want to write a long-winded answer if I misunderstood you.
