This has always been a subject of question and confusion, for me. Why is it that shows who have aired dubbed episodes on different platforms, yet Crunchyroll only airs the subbed episodes. Does anyone know why this is? Now don't get me wrong I don't mind watching subbed episodes and prefer subbed episodes, depending on the show. When I was watching Bleach I watch somewhere around 85% of all the episodes subbed. The only ones I watched dubbed were most likely the first 20 or so episodes. But like I said I don't get why they show the subbed episodes when the dubbed episodes are all ready out. Can someone shed some light on this for me? Thanks!

Crunchyroll doesn't have the license to use the dub for the majority of shows if it exists.

I'm no mod, but someone has to say it.

Why do people always make new topics when there's pinned thread that's already all about the subject.

CR has dubs, they just aren't licensers to all the dubs of all the anime they have.
See funi for example.
Anyway, lately for me, American dubbing sucks in terms of anime, the Free! ES dub was a wretched wreck.

Just letting you know I've moved this to the Advice, Info, Recommendations forum. As others have mentioned, subs and dubs of the same show would need to be licensed separately, and just because Crunchyroll got the sub (often while it was being broadcast), doesn't mean they can get the dub. I do know Crunchyroll is working on getting more dubs, but even so there are limitations to what they can get.

Well, while some people do chat in that thread generally about dubs, it's main purpose is as a reference list of the shows that CR has dubbed.

It is true that requests for information like this though, don't belong in the Anime forum, but folks don't always realize that at first.
