Thats kinda sad in my opinion. Getting so drawn up in fiction is unhealthy.

If you try to live fiction in reality and aren't in the business of movies/tv/books/gaming or something along those lines then I would say yes its unhealthy, but if you want to live in a fictional world then no it's not unhealthy, and as long as it doesn't interfere with your daily life.

There are plenty of books/shows/movies/games that allow you to escape the reality of the fictional reality within the source and escape to a more fantasy type system. We're on the verge of actual integrated VR systems, i'd say within the next 10 years it will be a common thing. This is what scifi/fantasy sets out to do, its meant to draw the person into the world and to escape reality. As for books well if you dont get sucked in then all you're doing is reading the words on a piece of paper.

The majority of people want to escape reality however they can, some do drugs others do other things.
