Talking to this woman on OK Cupid who doesn't like anime that much. Her sister does and has tried to convert her using Fairy Tail. It almost worked but she still isn't really into it. These are her interests when it comes to TV and movies. What anime should I have her watch to try and convert her into liking anime? Something that's sort of slice of life, adventure, thriller, and comedy. She enjoys horror movies and stuff like that, anime can totally fix her up with horror. But she likes comedy and reality TV for her television.

Fairy Tail can be a little too goofy for a first.

I suggest FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood. It's hard to go wrong with. Even those not really into anime can enjoy that one.

Why would you knowingly pull someone into this Hell of a hobby?

I hope you stub a toe on something. The little one.

For a mix of comedy and reality feel I'd say Saekano or Wagnaria!/Working!. For Drama, Say I Love You or Blue Spring Ride. For pure horror, Another or Parasyte. Sound! Euphonium, Kawai Complex, Plastic Memories and Angel Beats are good possibilities too.

Two anime comes to mind..either Shirokuma Cafe or ..Togainu no Chi. Maybe even Hellsing. Fairy Tail? Give me a break..no way would I have liked anime if that one was my introduction. My first anime was Inuyasha..I don't know any female who can resist Sesshomaru. But she may be the exception. Good luck!

I can't even get my sister into anime. (Though I blame her ex for showing her avatar and not something she might actually like like Death Note). So good luck with that.

For horror, i suggest Shiki, or Another, or Ghost Hunt. Mushimushi is kinda like SoL and mystery. Wagnaria, Non non biyori, and Aria the animation are good pure SoL comedies.

Sailor Moon got me into anime, but for a first timer I would say Clannad maybe. Clannad was one of my first and I really liked it.

Fruits Basket, maybe? It gets darker later on, but it's got lighthearted comedy, the only problem is that she'd have to read the manga later on because the anime stops too soon. But that was one of my starting animes. It is older, but I'd say give it a try. Maybe even just start her on manga.

So try Soul Eater.

Maybe a good choice for Horror could be Gyo. Maybe for comedy a good starting point could be something that feels more realistic like Princess Jellyfish or even a Ghibli movie. Oh and maybe for thriller you could show Steins;Gate.

Wallflower, it's a good mix of horror, though not taken very seriously as it is a comedy.
Good Luck *salutes*
