Q: How come you mention clay/waxes/hairsprays etc but not gel?
A: Because i really hate using gel. It's not really good for holding up hair and it gets really hard wen it dries and it looks bad. Clay/waxes actually give u a natural look and gives a better hold factor [use it when your hair is dry not damp/wet] Gel adds alot more weight to the hair and thats why it isnt good for holding up hair. It is a wet product and contains more moisture and water. Water can be a big weight on your hair. Gel is usually used by people with really short hair but it is mostly used for american/european styles. Gel = bad. remember that.

Q: Why to try avoid using fingers when straightening/drying?
A: Umm.. common sense, you'll burn your finger. But the actual reason is cause oils only really exist on skin, and not so much on hair itself right after you shower. Using hand can either transfer oils from hands to hair, or it can bring oil up from scalp into hair, which add extra weight and moisture in hair that can effect your style. Use brush or thin tooth comb instead. Also to ensure a "dryer, cleaner" style, do the final rinse of shower in cold water to close the pores in hair and tighten pores in scalp, also stiffens hair making styling easier.

Q: Why don't you advise to use the max heat setting on straightener? Isn't it better?
A: No it isn't. If you pump your straightener to the max it will burn your hair and it will be damaging. Note that straighteners have different heat setting ranges. Some are 1-15, 1-20, even 1-100. Its better to not use max even if you has stubborn hair. Its less damaging to hair to use lower setting but hold it on your hair longer, than it is to use a maximum setting and hold for less time.

Q: Is Osis and Got2B really the same?
A: Not really but they hold just as well as eachother. Osis is more of a hairspray than a freeze spray and leaves more flexibility. If you use back combing or your hair is cooperative Osis is great. Got2B is a pretty flawless way to make sure you freeze a style however and it holds up better to wind, rain, heat and humidity. I use Got2B for every day, its cheap ($3.99 on sale) and it holds and thats all I really need. However if I'm doing a show where my hair needs flexibility and doesn't need to hold as long I use a spray more like Osis and I back comb

Q: What's with the "optional" stuff like Welding paste and heat protection spray/creams?
A: Welding Paste - locks in moisture better than clay or wax, to use it either work it into damp or dry hair then blow dry straight up, pull into spikes and spray. Its better for really hot days because unlike wax or clay which kinda melt, welding paste is "locked on" once you blowdry it. Heat protect cream/gels/sprays - add into hair when damp before heat styling (curling, straightening, blowdrying, etc...). They coat and insulate hair against heat - heat can cause bending, breaking and split ends because as you heat styled, moisture in your hairs can boil and come to the surface. Downside is that heat creams add a bit of extra weight and a bit of extra weight can ruin a style.

Q: What straightener should I use?
A: Straightener choice is pretty important but can run up to around $200 for a good one.I have a $210 1-1/2 inch plate straightener and it's really good. For short style, and spiked style, suggested size of plates is as thin as possible, so 1 and a half inches, 2 at MOST. Anything thicker is meant for longer hair styles (girl hair styles) and you can't work with them on short hairs. Things you need to look for in a good straightener is first the plates, which should be CERAMIC and not metal, b/c metal burns. Also don't go buy a cheap $30 if it does more than straighten- don't buy a "straightening and drying" "straightening curling" or "straightening, crimping curling drying, conditioning, blah blah" straightener- you wont be getting a $30 straightener you'll be getting like a $15 or less straightener that probably work as well as my toaster = =.. Another important thing is the heat setting. Don't get something with settings like "low, med, high" get something with at least 8-10 heat settings. Some have the 130-210 C setting which isn't bad either.

Q: How do you get that 'asian' haircut?
A: You prolly mean how you get hair that is layered. Usually HK/Jap/Korean styles are layered and thinned. Layering is just cutting under the longer hair so that it is easier to style. Lots of examples from the pics i posted. So next time you get a cut ask for layering and thinning. Key thing. This makes hair lighter and easy to get that style you want. Just make sure your cut isnt too short, even if it will grow out to be nice in the future. I had to learn that the hard way lol ==

Q: My hair is really dry and it's all frizzy and stuff. What can i do to make it better?..
A: Everytime you shower or wash your hair, Use a bit more conditioner. Moisture should be restored and it'll look better. And if you straighten your hair use preotection creams or lay off the straightener for awhile. And eat healthier too. I know that might sound a bit weird but vitamins from foods can help your hair return to its normal state.

Q: How much clay/wax should i use for my hair?
A: Not too much. Do it a finger full at a time. You don't need alot just enough to hold it up then use hairspray after to freeze the style.

does ur hair change after dying them?

Posted 2/10/08
Osis and Got2B are great freeze sprays. Unlike most hairsprays they are the best at holding a style. Use after u style ur hair with clay/wax and spray it all around. make sure when u spray it, u dont wanna make any change to ur hair. or else, once the spray dries, it will stay on for the rest of the day and it will mess up ur hair if u make anymore adjestments to it.

Your hair color changes meaning the colored pigments have been removed to get the color in ur hair. however, depending on the degree on how extreme the color is, ur hair will get drier so right after u dye it wash ur hair and use alot of conditioner. The dye can also remove moisture properties, no jus pigments.

hey is there something wrong with keeping ur natural colour !!! .............I'm happy with my oddly coloured hair...........
Posted 3/2/08
theres nothing wrong with it as long as u like it.
colourig ur hair is like adding a bit of seasoning and flavor to ur food.
so if u like ur food jus the way it is dont add anything to it,

umm first, whats da difference between wax / clay/ and gel.... 2nd, using clay( i bought one yesturday) do u hav to like use freeze spray on it to make it hold still or just leave it alone?
Posted 3/20/08
clay is a dry product that usually gives u a natural finish with a strong hold
wax is almost the same but it has more of a shine to it
gel is a wet product and doesnt work that well on longer hair and it hardens which gives it a very wet shiny look
freeze spray is the finisher and u apply once u are happy with the style that u did with ur clay/wax. it makes it hold it like that for the rest of the day
