Yes. As they say, "The fear of death is the driving force behind human action. A limited time on earth is what makes humankind seek material and spiritual achievement. It is what makes life precious and dear".

I don't really buy that, though. Think about it: if you were assured you'd never die would you just stop doing or caring about anything? Sit down and watch paint dry or grass grow without as much as thinking? You'd get bored and start to do something, and it simply isn't possible to have already done everything since humans are creators which can invent new ideas and reinvent old ones. I would say it's a combination of desire and curiosity which is the driver of human activity, not the fear of death. That can motivate people to action, sure enough. But it's not a necessary component of the call to action in the way desire and/or curiosity is/are.

If humans didn't die they'd live their lives quite differently from how we do. They'd have a different mentality from us who know it can all end in an instant. I don't know. Don't have an answer to that because I won't live forever.

As for what drives humans to action, there's what you said. But there will always be that fear of not leaving anything behind once they die. It's a pain to explain so I whatever. I agree with you.

I could never fear death for mysellf, only fort others close to me. I know it's a bit selfish but that's the way it is.

No, cause I know I'll die one day and I can't do anything about it

I welcome death with an open casket.

I say no now, but that may change in due time.

Yes and no, sometimes, but I don't really think about it unless someone I know is in the hospital or has died. Funerals serve as a reminder we're all mortal and going to die someday. But as its something in the back of my mind, not really. Its not really healthy to dwell on death.

Most definitely yes. The very thought of the eventuality terrifies me if I think about it for too long.

Though it's not the 'my time with life is up' that gets me, it's that I won't be able to do anything to help people anymore, to improve things for everyone, to improve humanity - albeit I'm not doing very much of it at the moment, though I do have plans to change that in a big way.

At it's bare minimum, it's that I'm terrified of not having enough time to leave my mark on history, on the scale that I desire.

Yep. It's more the thought of seeing my death coming for me, or knowing that it's right around the corner that scares me... I'd like to go in my sleep, even though some would call that cowardly.

No, because like any smart person I'm a christian, and i know i will go to heaven.

Well I don't really have any real reason to be alive so I am not scared to die. Eternal sleep doesn't sound all that bad tbh.

No point of being afraid or thinking about it when you know that one day, you gonna end up dying either way....in my honest opinion.
