Is Dragon Ball Z better subbed or dubbed?

I think dubbed is better because I don't want to listen to Goku sounding like a little kid.

I agree, I typically dislike dubbed Anime however; DBZ is one of the many few I don't mind watching dubbed, the VA did a great job.

I watched the entire series in dubbed first. Then tried subbed after and it was horrid.

I don't watch it, but my boyfriend is here and he agrees that dubbed is what he prefers.

i can't say about the series itself, but in the History of Trunks special,
Trunks appeared much more mature, and the androids "more evil-ish"
dubbed Goku is better than the original though

Dubbed. I don't want to listen to an old lady playing what looks like a dude on steroids yelling like he's got to take a giant shit. It just doesn't sound natural. No offense to Goku's Japanese voice actress...

Watched it on TV growing up, so I'm going to have to go with "Subbed"

I actually like the voice actress for goku in the sub, but the other voices don't resonate with me.

I grew up in Japan, but I think people here would call it watching it raw (without subtitles).

Sean Schemmel and other voice actors on the dub has gained notoriety for their work and has prospered for it and a example is Sean Schemmel did voice work for Lucario in SSB4 his 2nd notable job in my opinion so I have to go with the dub.

Subbed for me. You miss a lot of subtleties in the dub. For instance, the Kanehamea has this very ominous hum when being charged in the original. And of course the VAs are altogether better. Norio as Cell is GOAT.
