Horror and Mecha, but I don't know why... I haven't given either of those a try. I should really watch a good one before complaining.

For horror you should try 'Another'. Only 13 episodes long but it's great. For Mecha though I'm there with you. I ain't really bothered with one before.

Yaoi...

Harem, seeing this genre during my childhood was enough, I tend to stay away from Harem animes... and sometimes Long-running anime shows, for this, it depends on my mood, if I should watch 100 episode in a week. lol

If it's great, why does it only have 13 episodes? Argh. >.<

well I have no issue with Yaoi but I would never watch an anime that has any yaoi in it.. I prefer incest over it I dont mind Sibling love at all.. Honest true I find it super adorable when a sis and a brother fall in love and fight to be together

The only incest anime and manga that I like that was truly well done, serious and tragic was Koi Kaze. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a serious, well characterized take on love, incest and even age-different. There was no contrived situations, no idiotic perversion or any form of silliness. Excellent series. Both the anime and manga are great and tell the same story.

Ecchi. I am not there for the girls. If I was searching girls, I would not be watching a regular anime, I d watch something else, I am there for the feels, fights and plots...

I'm with you too man! But, sadly, for some stupid reason, the ecchi animes have the best feels and plots and even action Like FSN and Sekirei and Freezing..... it's really frustrating. HOTD too.

I don't think I could get into yaoi. Although I did watch Karneval and Nibari world. The yaoi in baka and test was ok though

lol well it's just the way the story is really. It don't feel rushed or too short, just give the first episode a go I bet you'll like it.

While there are a few exceptions to any rule, I tend to avoid single gender (all males or all females) slice of life, mecha, reverse harem, yuri/yaoi. I don't particularly mind if the anime has elements of the previous in them, but if it becomes the main focus then I lose interest very quickly. If something can make me laugh is probably the biggest deciding factor towards moving outside of my genre-box.

Yaoi, reverse-harem and hardcore hentai are definitely no-nos for me.
