its kinda insulting to me that you would judge korea only off those "stereotypes"

Unfortunately, there's a lot of truth to those "stereotypes" as based on non-Koreans who go to Korea and tell of their experiences (especially non-white ones), Koreans who go abroad to study, Korean immigrants to other countries, statistics, the status of plastic surgery in South Korea, social pressure, how looks seem to override everything else, and the shallowness born of building up a country from nothing in so short a time.

I could go on and on, but I'm too lazy.

Then again, different opinions and feelings on matters will be "offensive" to people out there no matter what if they don't feel the same way. I'm not going to apologize for my thoughts on the matter though, as they are my personal opinion. Still, it wasn't my intention to hurt someone on purpose - I just shared my personal, brutal opinion.

Yeah, you picked one out of the few in America (and the West in general) versus the millions of people in Asia and in South Korea who get "western" style surgery and use double-eyelid tape, circle lenses (which were invented in S.Korea lol) and eye-enhancers? Who give plastic surgery as graduation presents? Who many a time wear makeup so that it distorts the features instead of enhancing them? Whose children are so shallow they cannot understand liking someone for who they are versus who they look like as said by countless foreign-teachers who go teach and live there? Who white worship like there is no tomorrow?

Fail.

I just ignore those kind of people to the point where I don't even see them. It's easy when you're only interested in the music and don't care about fandoms.

Really? I didn't know that was a thing. But it sounds like it would exist. LOL, learn something new everyday.

Wow. $25k and she still failed... Somewhere in this country, someone with an incredibly high student loan debt is looking at that image and crying themselves to sleep.

I'm so glad i was only a Koreaboo and Weeaboo at one point in my life.

the only kpop "fandom" things I'm into are like, cutesy gifs and pictures, edits made by fans, if that even counts, I hate the shipping aspect that a lot of people have, like OMFG girls in girlgroups must be 100% ghay for each other or all the guys must be ghay, it's like, no, you have no idea how these people even sway and it's not like anime shipping dudes, these are actual, tangible people. The only time i jokeshipped, ever, was like, Suzy and Ian somerhadler because of their dumb twitter interactions, and that was a JOKE. Like I love my kpop, I love my gals in girlgroups especially SNSD, but when I see most kpop fandoms, I feel like scrunching up my nose in disgust.

Yep, for once, we have a made-up "'Boo" word (literally and figuratively) that actually means something--
Over on the other major anime board, one of the frequent posters tries to make sure that K-pop and K-drama aren't forgotten! in any discussion of J-pop and anime's influence in the US.
I would have said "We have a couple", but that wouldn't be true. We have ONE. On the entire board. And ain't he just the busiest lil' rascal.

(Which is what makes them so much more annoying:
Anime has enough influence by now, that if you say "Anime is better than Cartoon Network", people have a general frame of reference to what you're talking about.
Koreaboos, OTOH, feel they have to get their own movement started from scratch--at all times, at all costs--or else their efforts will sink back into "undeserved" obscurity in the shadow of their better-known neighbors. Like the Asian-culture equivalent of Linux fans...The price of freedom is not only eternal vigilance, but eternal conversation-steering.)

Weeaboos are a current problem that everyone in the world is suffering through. To make things worst, a new species of annoying, stuck up, self righteous retards are coming and on the rise.

They call themselves Koreaboos.

Sure you can be a casual fan, listen to K-Pop, watch K- Dramas, but these guys take it to far.

Here's one incident that recently happened:

Like it's not even your culture,

stop disrespecting it by pronouncing words wrong,

saying "oppa" and " noona" cause those are the only Korean words you know,

and making absolute horrible fan fictions about K-pop Stars.

No Matter how hard you try Koreaboos, you will never be Korean.

First, Weeaboos, now Koreaboos, what's next?

Spread Awareness. Please help this dying world
