Honestly, I say leave him to it. God knows his missus has more life in her eyes than mine.

I read that japanese teenagers are becoming asexuals because they think having a real relationship is too much trouble. The teens turn to hentai or fantasies instead and this is a good example of it. Japan has a greater ratio of senior citizens than young citizens because of this, young people don't want the real thing so most stay single.

Isn't it because Japanese women have incredibly high standards to the point that most men rather not try?

I felt like this is so true. When I was in Japan mostly everyone my age was single. The women say one thing but then if a guy does that they get all squeemish and turn him down. It is a culture of a lot of non physical contact / pda for sure, the women fantasize so much about how a male should be that they are disappointed when it comes to the real thing. They are scared to even put them selves out there.

It's not easy being a guy that is for sure.

This is also partially why yaoi is so popular among women. It is because things portrayed in these manga are things they are interested in, want to know about but can't really do those things themselves IRL to guys.

Well, that's what the article said because they weren't interested in real life relationships. Sexuality is very complex, some choose and some are born that way.

Well the article doesn't understand asexuality clearly. They don't even seem to understand the difference between romanticism and sexuality.

Ok....I'm asexual myself, I don't feel sexually attracted to people so maybe the article was also implying that they lack that attraction towards real people. I will look it up and link it so we can stop this confusion....

I didn't find the one I read (it was on tumblr) but I found this one on google: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/20/young-people-japan-stopped-having-sex

This one is calling it "the celibacy syndrome" which makes more sense than asexuality.

It seems that is part of the problem, this is an insert from the article I linked above:

Japanese men have become less career-driven, and less solvent, as lifetime job security has waned. Japanese women have become more independent and ambitious.

and

She just doesn't want a relationship and casual sex is not a good option, she says, because "girls can't have flings without being judged". Although Japan is sexually permissive, the current fantasy ideal for women under 25 is impossibly cute and virginal. Double standards abound.

Off-topic but sometimes I wish women here were more like Japanese women(independent and ambitious) because there are way too many pregnant girls at a very young age with no careers or good jobs to have a family....

He's not hurting anyone so I don't see an issue with it. I'm just curious as to who is wearing the suit

He should be classified as something completely different from anime fans. As if our reputation isn't bad enough already.

As long as he's fine with it I really don't have a problem with this guy fantasy dating his waifu. I can't pretend to know how someone like him thinks or how he acts but as long as he's not hurting anyone or himself, I really don't see a problem with this. I'd still never do something like this, but I don't see how it's wrong or anything.

The only important question is, who's in the suit??

It can't be the guy, the wearer has curves - but if woman would do that for him, he shouldn't be needing 2-D girls in the first place....
