Type-0 HD has everything a FF fan could ask for: A superb battle system, lots of characters, hours upon hours of interesting quests and a great story. It is quite strange, but the best Final Fantasy game of the recent years is a port from a PSP game.

We’ve teamed up with VALVE’S very own DOTA 2 to bring you a truly amazing pre-purchase offer. Pre-purchase FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 HD and receive the Master Chocobo as your courier and Moogle (Class Zero) as your ward in DOTA 2, plus an exclusive FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 HD loading screen.

(steam)

Square Enix originally launched the initial PSP release of Final Fantasy Type-0 back in 2011. After their series’ dedicated fanbase made it known that they wanted this new entry in the US, the RPG juggernaut finally decided to do just that. Four years later, gamers have finally received the opportunity to head into this mature portion of the Fabula Nova Crystallis sub-series. In a very appreciated move, Xbox One and PS4 owners get to enjoy this action RPG with a completely improved HD rendition of Final Fantasy Type-0.

The main plot workings of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD follows a interwoven battle between a military empire that relies on technology and a nation of people who rely on their magic prowess. Due to the violent and unwarranted attacks that the aforementioned military has brought upon its neighboring nations, the magic focused side chooses to utilize powerful students of a prestigious school to combat them. These 14 students rely on the power of their nation’s crystal, which is just what their rival are doing as well. As you move throughout the game’s chapter’s and many main missions, you’ll find yourself intrigued by the tough trials of war and the personalities sucked into this massive conflict. Each of the main party members work together under differing personalities, so everyone will surely adopt their favorite before long.

I really like this game thus far, although I've been secret training a lot recently to get some lower level classmates to a decent level range.

So far I like Seven, Sice, Queen, King, Jack, and Cinque as party members, although I had to swap one out for the girl with the magicite pistol cuz I need a ranged character. Jack and Cinque are really challenging to play. Jack is really slow and seems to only be able to attack once before requiring recovery animations, and Cinque has a slow recovery if she misses a swing. When she does connect it's usually either half health taken off or a straight up OHKO. I'm also a fan of her dub actress, which helps a lot.

Not a fan of the RTS portions tho. I quit out of the tutorial one and proceeded to skip it. I'm probably gimping myself in the long run but I just hate those segments.

I played it on the Xbox One. I bought it for the FF 15 Demo but it was a great game to play. It was a little easy at first but later down the storyline it got epic . My dodge skill was impeccable, I could barely attack at times but I countered massively when I did. It was a great game in my opinion.

I thought this was a great game that was rough around the edges, but definitely worth a playthrough. Especially if you want in on the FFXV Episode Duscae Demo Turned Open Beta.

I played this in Japanese when it first came out on the PSP, and immediately I compared it to Crisis Core, which was Mr. Tabata's previous outing on the PSP. I think that as an Action RPG on a handheld, the mechanics are sound; there game's broken up into missions for mobility and breaks, the gameplay's easy and accessible enough, and there's a lot of options depending on if you wanna play the game easy (Ace/Cater) or hard (any melee).

Of course, it's held back by a bad camera (to be fair, though, no one really ever got how to fix a 3D action camera without fixing it in place), unfair mechanics (see: flying bosses), and a lackluster story that's spread too thin between 14 protagonists. However, I will say that, given that this was released right after getting three Lightning games and FFXIV 1.0, Type-0 was a refreshing change of mood, pace, and gameplay style. I certainly hope that an upgraded and polished version of the game that addresses my concerns will make it as FFXV.

I admittedly only bought this game for the FFXV demo but ended up 100% it for some reason. I actually liked Jack the best though I found myself playing Carter a lot as her elemental shot made magic somewhat redundant, and it was fuelled by rechargeable AP and not MP. Though Nine is basically immortal with his White Knight skill.

welcome to fire emblem!! Awakening is one of the latest additions with two on the way by the end of next year. It's turned based but on the 3DS though.

I never played the first one, will I get confused in story line? I mean is it sequel from previous Fire Emblem or is it different World, different Story line? If yes, than I'll consider buying Fire Emblem someday! :D

Almost all Fire Emblems have the same turned based rpg style. They just get better with time. It doesn't really matter if you played the previous entries but it couldn't hurt to get them at a later date.

almost all the storylines follows a strict principle of revolving around the fire emblem but the stories are somewhat different but only to themselves. Some Emblem Vets can tell most of the similarities between them at a glance but most newcomers don't mind and just enjoy the gameplay; Also downloading the DLCs is a god send if you want all of the legacy characters from the previous releases to play alongside your party and get bonus gold and exp is you start hurting down the line.

This is the second, or third, Emblem I've bought outright and once I started playing it I can't stop. Do a little research after playing if you want to see certain characters you may like appear in the game.

I'm planning on buying it for my PS4

Are the graphics and story as horrendous and convoluted as they make it out to be?

I've been thinking about purchasing this game for a while now on Steam. It looks like it would beat Square's The Last Remnant by a mile.

The graphics aren't even bad, not by far they are actually nice.

Combat is wicked.
