Deep within the caverns hidden between the most active volcanoes, a clearing let the light of the sun shine to illuminate the black rock in the middle of the volcanoes where few would dare go. Once there, the brilliantly illuminated caverns shone that could only be accessed from that point. The shining garnet stuck out from the lava rock as it led down into the home of Pyron, the dragonoid. Many report of the proud dragon who welcomes travelers and helps those who were lost in the caves.

It was a cool morning when a man approached the entrance of the cavern. He brought out a map and checked his surroundings. This was the place. The home of the guardian of fire. Even just a few feet, he could feel the heat radiating from the mouth of the cave's entrance. This...this was it. "Pyron, Father of Fire, the Great Dragonoid, sire of the people of fire. Possesses a temperamental mood depending on the day. I must be cautious when dealing with him...if I come face to face with him. Better yet, I hope to never have to meet him..."

His mind raced regarding his crazy idea. To transverse the home--the domain--of a guardian is suicide at best; but he has a great need that forced his hand regarding certain events. His quest for the element that would grant him the ability to bend had reached its first obstacle. What element would he hunt for?

For him to know what element would truly resonate with his being, he must first know the element at their purest. His theory regarding the elements can only be linked to the guardians--or their domains to be more specific--themselves. He believes if he meditates at locations where the element is at its peak, then he would be granted insight on himself and the element he so desires.

With that in mind, he slowly entered the cavern. Intent to accomplish his goal and overtly cautious as to not alert the guardian to his presence. "By my purity," he couldn't help but snort at the thought; a man who desires so much is hardly pure, "this place is warm...so warm." He whispered at the end. He could feel the heat; but it was surprisingly comforting; and dare he say it, alluring even. He couldn't help but sigh. He couldn't even believe his weapons could harm the being...no matter how hard he tried if push comes to shove. He just wish fate was kind where his presence has not alerted the guardian what so ever.

The light that illuminated him from the sun above was suddenly gone. It seemed instead that the vocanoes had leaned over and finally blocked off the area that he was in. However, looking above told a different story. A great red dragon, black markings decorating his scales, had perched upon the top of a volcano and spread it's wings, plunging all below in shadow. Looking below, it spotted the young man in his domain. He appeared to be from the fire tribe. Deciding that he would find out for himself, Pyron swooped down to meet the young man. It didn't really occur to him that perhaps a gigantic dragon sweeping down from the top of a volcano would be terrifying.

Isi had traveled a long way from what used to be her home and chose her next destination to be the Fire tribe. She had always thought they were interesting and wanted to learn more of them... If she was luck she could meet the great dragon Pyron. Isi wanted to try and meet all four of the great ones. She lay back against black rock that had once been lava from a volcano when her ears twitched, hearing some commotion coming from the opening to the volcano. Isi got up and walked to the entrance before it closed right in front of her. She was taken aback and sighed, looks like she was right in thinking that this was where Pyron lived.

Years of being a hunter made Aldaris keenly aware of his surroundings...well, mostly anyway. He heard the crunching of the earth, indicating someone was approaching the cave entrance. He assumed it was just someone from the tribe since every once in a while someone would just sit right in front of the cave and bask in the guardian's encompassing presence. But soon, a gut feeling tugged at his consciousness. He felt the sudden shift of the air behind him which prompted him to turn around. The cavern was sealed. Probably at the command of Pyron, himself.

Aldaris couldn't help but sigh. "Okay, my only means of escape has been cut off...lovely." He sarcastically told himself. Oh, who was he kidding! He was dead in every sense of the word. He could practically be Pyron's next meal or...plaything, he thought grimly. "I don't know which could be worse...to be the guardian's breakfast or..." He gulped down the bile that slowly made its way to his throat. That chain of thought scared him a bit. But soon he composed himself before marching on. There was no use thinking of the what if's anymore.

After walking through the warm and dimly lit tunnel, he gasped at the sight before him. He was in a large brightly lit cavern. Lava, gently oozing from sections of the cavern's walls, brought both illumination and heat within the spacious area. The rock, the ground--almost everywhere he looked--was primarily composed of obsidian...a rock created from the depths of fire itself. He noticed a large gaping hole at the ceiling of the cavern. He could see the clear sky above; and yet, not a single ray of sunshine reached the cavern below.

Before he could continue his observation of the area, he heard the flapping of wings above. "Oh no..." That was all he said before the form of a great red dragon with elegant black markings decorating its scales came swooping down. Fate must seem to hate him so much that he was now face to face with Pyron himself.

His instincts screamed for him to run but he could not. His mind told him that showing fear would be a very bad idea. Right now, maybe his mind has better senses at the moment than his instincts...or he could be extremely wrong. It all depends on what Pyron, his lord, would do to him.

Isi thought for a moment and then focused on the sealed off opening, bending it to open up again. A small hole appeared and she slipped through, allowing it to close behind her. She took in her surroundings and was frozen in awe at the scene in front of her. It was beautiful, the rock structures and the lava combined made the cavern look amazing. Movement caught her eye and she turned to see a man and a dragon flying down to meet the man. She smiled and her ears perked up.

With a flick of his claws Pyron knocked the man on his back, before pinning him down with his foot. He didn't mean to be so rough with him, however being a huge giant it was a bit hard. His scales shined brighter now with the lava's light around him, and he lowered his head to observe the man who he had trapped below him. His eyes were a dull orange, broken only by his slit black pupils. He looked over him, before retracting his foot back to the side, and quite suddenly transforming into his humanoid form. He was still as huge as before, however it was a bit less intimidating. Some scales were still present on his face, and his eyes were still that of a dragon, however other than that he appeared normal. He kneeled down, before picking him up by his collar. A warm smile appeared on his face. "Hello!" He said. He didn't appear to be angry at all, in fact he was quite amused. "I don't suppose you are a sacrifice?" He asked. Usually, more people came when they delivered one, however he felt like he needed to ask. He was so involved with the first visitor, he didn't notice Isi's approach.

Isi was transfixed by the dragon, he was absolutely amazing! She was glad that she chose to come to the Fire Tribe after the Earth Tribe. Isi stepped closer to the two of them, "No I think I can speak for the both of us and say that we are not sacrifices. It is an honor to finally meet you Pyron." She bowed a little, her tail swinging and her ears twitching, "I hope you don't mind me here."

Pyron turned his attention to the girl, his brows furrowing. This was no fire tribesman. She appeared to be a werewolf. He blinked. "You must be one of Nyx's!" He said. That was good. It wasn't that he disliked the other guardians, but he was glad she didn't come from Siren's tribe. It wasn't that they didn't get along, but he was always worried they would put out his fires. Or that he would eat one by accident. Siren was upset with him for nearly a century the last time that happened. He couldn't help it. Some of them really looked like fish. "You're quite far away from home, aren't you?" He asked. He presumed she would know she was welcome by his friendly nature.

"Ha one of Nyx's... I guess you could say that and yes I'm not welcome back at home anymore so being far away is good. I was actually looking around to try and meet you. I want to know more about our origins and well Nyx wasn't the best one to go to... I think you know what I mean." She smiled and was glad she had found Pyron, he seemed very nice and trusting.

Pyron raised an eyebrow. "Not welcome home?" He questioned. Usually, this happened when the tribes found a hunter in their midst. That, or they gave them to the guardians. Even Irridessa would kill a hunter found by the tribe. This girl didn't look like a hunter, but he could never be sure. Perhaps they found her trying to control earthquakes? He narrowed his eyes. "Why?"

Aldaris was annoyed. Don't get him wrong, he wasn't annoyed with Lord Pyron for pinning him down and all that. No, he was annoyed that this...bender presumes to take command. Though his is grateful...he was indeed a bit put off because he believes he can take care of himself.

"My Lord Pyron, as the girl had said, I...we are not sacrifices. I have come here to meditate...to learn what fire truly is..." His voice trailed off. He took a deep breathe, feeling the warm air enter his lungs. He exhales before continuing. "I know my lord has knowledge on what a hunter's true goals are. I am not here to wet my arms on the blood of guardians--the pillars of the realm. No, my lord, I am here to make sure if the elements...agree with me. I plan to travel and meditate on the apex of each element. I wish to see if fire, water, earth, or air would be compatible to me before I join...the One True Hunt.

He didn't know why he was being as honest as he was. Maybe it was because he was in the presence of his lord? Maybe it was the aura of trust that radiates from the guardian? Nevertheless, he poured his heart at his speech. It was as honest and pure as it can be.

Pyron looked back down at Aldaris. "You wish to know what fire really is?" He said. He was a bit disappointed that he said he wished not to fight him. It would be better them than the other members of the fire tribe. He growled. "You would slay your fellow fire tribesmen?" He said. He heard what he said about going to the other elements as well, however he was not pleased with the fact that he would even consider the idea of hunting fire benders. He could tell he was being honest, at least. It was curious that he didn't just choose the element that was assigned to his tribe, however it wasn't his focus.

"I am no longer welcome because there is corruption in the Earth Tribe and the leaders there thought the only way to silence me was to kill me or make sure I can never be trusted again by my tribe. I have committed no crime, nothing but compassion that almost killed me.... But I've said too much, how has the Fire Tribe been faring?" Isi looked back over to the man and rolled her eyes, the man was probably just mad she saved his butt. She walked over to him sticking out her hand, "I'm Isi by the way and you are?" Isi was a little worried by the way he looked and talked that he was a hunter or something of the sort but quickly put that to the back of her mind.

"And why shouldn't I?!" Aldaris couldn't help but roar in righteous fury. "I was treated less than dirt by the people who should have been my family. I was but a...stain to their family honor! A weakling, worthless, WEAK!" His growled roared, his voice dripping with so much venom and his eyes burning with unbridled rage. "They would rather see me fail--better yet, kill me--if they had the chance. But only one..." His voice trailing off before continuing, "only one gave a damn."

He was angry. Furious even, for memories of a forgotten time came surfacing from the depths of his mind. The scorn, the pain, the abuse, the heartache...it all came back.

He took a deep breath. Wishing to calm down and to clear his head. After composing himself somewhat, he spoke. "As I have said, I wish to know what element I am deeply in tune with. I would not slay my fellows but my...kin...are the prime exceptions to that vow. When I acquire my element, I may return to my home and end them...ninety-nine lives with one life spared...or disown them from my life..."

He closed his eyes, pushing back the phantom pains and tears before continuing, "I may be born of fire but I know my flames well enough. My fire has dimmed, no longer does it shine bright. Its encompassing warmth has been replaced with the ungodly cold; if I dip my hands to this accursed flames of mine, my body and soul would wither and burn to smoldering ash. Thus, my Lord Pyron, I...in good faith and conscience...cannot accept the mantle of fire." He gave out a sigh. "But I wish to understand fire. To see what my grandfather had seen. To know what he knew...to know peace like he knew of peace...with fire as his beacon."

He purposely ignored the girl. He doesn't want to inflict pain upon her for she has not been the cause of his anger. She was an innocent...one who is undeserving of his anger...
