A beautiful golden cloud sits, blowing with the wind, far up in the vast sky. Although most clouds are simply water vapor, this one seems to real you could almost touch it. Perhaps you could, if you could get up there.

With her head tilted backwards, her eyes fixated to the sky above, her mind was filled with fascinating thoughts. Alise had an unusual habit of gazing longingly to the world in the clouds. Perhaps, she thought, if she stared hard enough, an angel would come down and take her back. They were merely childish thoughts however, who knew if something was even up there in the first place. Raising a hand to her eyes, she blocked the sunshine away, her hair softly moving with the slight breeze occurring. At least, it had been a wonderful day.

"Hello, child."
The voice was quiet, like a breeze.
It had come from nowhere yet everywhere.
"You seem quite fascinated by the sky."
What an interesting happening,
That someone new should come to her.
But had this child come by design,
Or by some chance of fate?

The voice surprised her, like it should have, and with her delicate eyes she scanned the sky above hoping to have missed something. She had not, the sky was the same, as she would know from countless hours she spent gazing towards it. But the voice continued to haunt her, where had it come from? Around her? She scanned the premise, but no avail. Below her? She looked to her feet and shook her head. There was only one choice left. "Hello?" Alise spoke carefully, a part of her was not expecting an answer.

This was such an interesting child,
To have looked about for her so.
"Hello, child."
Said the voice once again.
"Have you sought me out,
Or have you come to me by chance?"

For a child to wander upon her home,
Was not unheard of,
But it certainly was not common.
Quite interesting, indeed.

To seek someone out was her intention, however it was a general intention and by simply being here meant nothing for her. Alise and her eyes wandered the sky once more as the voice spoke again. She was no longer surprised, but now particularly curious. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice strong though light. The only information she could gather was that she was either invisible, or out of sight. Perhaps both.

"I am the one called Irridessa."
Said the voice.
"What is your name, child?
I would know the one
Who visits me."

This child is quite odd,
She thought.
Would she be friendly,
Or had she come to attack?

Irridessa... Her mind raced as she heard the name, it was quite familiar. Alise knew it well, the maiden of the skies high above the clouds. Her eyes lowered gently. Guardians to her were not beings for worship, to her and her thoughtlessly filled mind, they were the enemy. Though she did not believe so fully, she had nothing else to believe in. Raising her head back to the skies, her soft lips opened and spoke with confidence. "Alise." Though supposedly hated, she thought, perhaps the being of the sky could help her in some way.

A very nice name,
She thought.
Perhaps it was time,
To show herself to the child.
"That is a lovely name, child."
With that, she slowly descended,
From her home.
She was the picture of beauty,
Her hair long and silver,
Falling in waves.
A dress of blue adorned her frame,
Slim and petite.
Two wings, white as could be,
Extended from her back.
Her hands she held before her,
Eyes closed to all the world,
As though she were in prayer.
"Where do you come from, child,
That you have found yourself here?"

Though now in sight,
And her feet on the grass,
Her voice came,
From everywhere,
Yet nowhere.

She was beautiful, stunning and eye catching just like the rumors told. Her breath caught in her throat, flawless and perfect, everything she was but more. Looking upon her was as if looking upon a piece of art, and Alise would have lied if she said she held no trace of jealousy. Pinching the fabric that flowed around her legs, she gave a small bow. Alise had felt no inclination to, but it was as if she was captivated and mesmerized by everything of the other. Upon listening to the question, a soft and high laugh escaped from her pretty lips. "I wish I knew myself." Her words painted no conclusion, for she had none.

The child was polite,
She thought to herself.
Though more odd than before,
If she did not know her origin.
"Child, have you no place to call home?"
She asked, wings closing behind her.
If this child truly knew not,
Of herself or of her home,
Why did she wander?
Was she searching for her answer?

The guardian was correct, she did not have a home, or a past, or anything to call her own. She was a wanderer, left to her own devices as she searched for her mind and memories. Alise did not think it would be easy to find them, but she had not thought it to be this hard. She shook her head in response. "I do not know, though I wish to." She spoke with an odd sort of grace, as if she was not used to speaking under such polite terms.

So it was true.
The child knew nothing of herself.
It was a saddening thought,
A child with no family or past.
Was there no way to assist her?
"Do you not have,
Even the smallest memory?
A fragment of an image,
The lingerings of a dream?
Anything to lead you home?"

This child was not of the Air Tribe,
But she felt concern for her.
No child should be without,
A place to call home.

Alise closed her eyes, gently letting in a small breath. Usually when people closed their eyes, memories and thoughts would appear, but to her, her entire mind was blank and dark. She shook her head once again. "No, though I do know I fell from somewhere," she answered with a soft tone, unlike her usual voice but for some reason she felt the need to speak this way to the angel. Alise looked back up to the sky, her eyes gazing over the many clouds and bright sun. She wondered if there truly was something up there hidden away from the world.

The child had fallen?
Where could it have been from,
That she would have survived it?
"Child,do you know what you are,
As far as blood and birth?
Perhaps your being could lead you,
to the answers you desire."

If the child knew not,
Where she had come from or why,
Would she know her blood?
Likely not, she thought,
But this child needed hope,
And perhaps she could provide it.
