Her smile weigh heavy,
and her manipulating eyes dawning,
she grimaced secretly.
"You seem busy, too talk."
Zeva said finally, huddling the vase closely.
"I wouldn't want to disturb you."
There had been a hint of sarcasm,
thrashing in her singsong voice.

Daria chuckled. "Yeah, it's hard for a lot of people at first." She smiled. "It gets easier the more amazing places you visit." In truth, Daria hadn't had a long period of homesickness like most people tended to. There hadn't been much for her in her hometown, so she didn't have anything to really miss.

"Don't apologize." He said, interrupting her little song.
"Especially to a complete stranger." His eyes were unclouded by discretion; crystal clear. He lacked the sarcasm she reflected. Picking up on her subtle challenge, he shivered. There was a gentle carnage hidden somewhere in her golden eyes. Crossing his arms, he slant his head. He didn't need words. Yes? What could I ever loving help you with.

Smiling shortly, she spoke,
"Have you visited the Earth kingdom?"
Her laced words mixed with emotion-
and envy and thrill.
She would certainly become a traveler,
she thought.
But then she thought of the loneliness
that would crept to her.

Her eyes suddenly flocked with criticism,
she read him as easily as he read her.
She felt the waves of a mental conversation,
but felt implied to use her words for communication.
"I'm Zeva." Zeva says, "And you-"
She titled the urn to read the crest just at the bottom.
Her fingers skimmed over it. "-C.E.."
"There. We're not strangers."

"Yeah. Daria smiled, recalling her visit. "The architecture is amazing. Despite what some people think, they can do a lot more with their bending than throw rocks." In her travels, she had found that each tribe had a few uses for its bending outsiders might not think of. She had her own tricks, too.

"I bet it was glorious." She says,
before raising her hand to the man behind the counter.
She had called him over, again,
and when he arrived,
Zeva offered double of what the drink actually cost.
"For my friend here, too." Zeva implies,
before turning to the girl beside her
and smiling awkwardly.
"I won't accept a 'no'. I'm Zeva."

"Oh. Thanks" Daria knew better than to refuse when someone offered kindness like that. "It's nice to meet you Zeva. I'm Daria." She held her hand out for Zeva to shake. "Daria Doyle." She grinned at the woman. She was pleased to have met someone so quickly after arriving.

She took her hand in a firm shake,
striding it, and smiling kindly.
"It's nice to meet you, Daria Doyle." Zeva says,
and laughs faintly.
The women's name was certainly catchy.
"So tell me," She began,
"Why come to the fire tribe?"

Cole rose a brow, and blinked down at the mold of clay in his hands.
"Well, take care, Zeva." He said, scratching his jaw and leaving another smear of gray. Soon, he became absorbed in his work. His fingers smoothed over the clay, shaping and blooming petals of foreign flowers. As engrossed as he was, no one dared to steal from his stand. His heavy limbs and his tight concentration was as intimidating.

"Why not come here?" Daria smiled. She was the kind of person who was easily infected by other people's smiles. "It's been a while since I've been. Though the main reason is that I just kind of ended up here." She took a sip of her drink quickly, as if she couldn't wait to finish what she was saying. "I usually just walk and see where I end up. This time I found myself here."

"You're lucky." Her voice chattered melodically.
Yet she had thought,
nothing held her back.
She was free herself,
so why not travel and enjoy the world?
With her smile still bright,
she turned to the girl fully,
with a thank you in her eyes,
and a tune in her lips.
"Maybe, I'll give it a try."

"You might as well try it." Daria wondered if Zeve would actually try or not. A lot of people said they would but never left their towns. A slightly puzzled expression appeared on her face. "But what do you mean by 'lucky'?" She had never thought of herself as particularly lucky or unlucky. Being able to go where she wanted had always felt natural.

"There's nothing holding you back."
Zeva inhaled softly,
her smile broadening.
"You have no worries. You're free."
She tried to explain herself thoroughly,
but found her own words rather confusing.

Zeva had a point. Not everyone was able to just leave home like she had. Daria grinned. "I never thought of it that way." She took another sip of her drink. Zeva really did have good taste, she thought. "If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living?" It may have been an odd question to ask a relative stranger, but what good was meeting new people if you didn't discover what made them unique?
