There's a few things that don't make sense. I'm reading it takes more than the expected 3 years [up to 6 years] for students to graduate college. That's a bit crazy. Maybe a cap on how much students can borrow might help.

There is. At my university, financial aid runs out either past second semester or year of grad school (I dont know which exactly). After that, you can't get anymore. So that means freshmen, sophomore, junior, senior year, plus one something of graduate school you can get financial aid. After that, you're cut off and have to start paying back what you took out.

This is disturbing news. This system encourages people to borrow more student debt and then promote non payment. People who should pay back get to walk away from their debt and likely never understand how to pay back loans. Then banks can encourage them to borrow more.

Americans have become infants, babies, children who want more but can't control themselves.

It amazes me that people get surprised about how our tax dollars are being wasted.... it's government, they've always wasted our tax dollars and will continue to do so regardless

Take the excess money going into the military since there is no war.

Put it in education

????

Benefit.

The US provides stability worldwide. If we cut military spending. Dictators would carve up random spheres of influence. You should be thanking us for all we have done to promote peace.

Ironic considering the US has overthrown democratically elected governments and put in puppet dictators.

It's true us Americans need to stop getting involved with other countries problems. It's really none of our business and we are paying for it now. Everyone knows Iraq was sooooo much better off before we got involved.

As for the loans. We wouldn't need them if colleges would stop overpricing their tuition's. I seriously doubt some of the universities which are not even in the top 20 universities in the United States really need to charge 54k a year per student.

Oh okay, then the problem might just largely be on the repayment side of things. It's just, there is an argument that Universities charge extremely high fees so i'd assumed a cap that forces these fees being charged to decrease might not be in place.

Heh, we haven't even touched on the cost of dorms, books, and whatever else the school offers.

If they support our interests so what. You don't become a superpower by getting in a drum circle and holding hands.

If you believe that then never say the interests of the US are for good. Promoting "freedom" and "democracy" while stripping people of their rights and abusing them is downright hypocritical. This is why the concept of countries is stupid.

No country is perfect. I know it is fashionable to bash the US but we are actually quite a bit better than most nations overall.

Ah the typical "no country is perfect" retreat. Is that why the US was named the biggest threat to world peace? Probably because you believe it's ok to commit crimes as long as it "serves our interests."

Biggest threat to world peace what a load. Stop drinking the anti american koolaid. Many other nations don't give a damn about world peace and if they had the power we do the world world would be much worse off. I would advise you to travel overseas if you do that I think your opinion of the US will improve.

Is this a joke? I have traveled and even lived in countries that aren't called America and frankly they are better than America. The US needs to stop poking its head where it doesn't belong. Put the rifle down and instead focus on fixing your shit like this mess before you go around touting about being the best of everyone's interests.

I think the world would be much more dangerous without the US military hegemony. You are of course free to believe that drum circles and socialism will somehow solve global conflict.
