My cats do things that frequently make me stop and think: "I... I don't think you're doing that quite right. It's not very cat-like." The most recent event was that my husband and I heard a noise from the bedroom. He joked that one of the cats had tipped over the laundry basket onto themselves. After a few minutes, we wandered into the bedroom to see what had happened and...

I was reminded of a Kate Beaton comic (specifically the first one here: http://www.harkavagrant.com/index.php?id=336 ) because I was just overwhelmed on how she even pulled this off in the first place.

So Crunchy Roll members, how has your cat failed to "cat" lately? We can talk any pet and just be inclusive if you would like. Let's talk pet fails. Photos are awesome, but I think we all realize that sometimes you don't grab the camera fast enough.

Cats are hilarious.

My two favorites are:

1. My cat finally managed to catch the ceiling fan, which kept on spinning with the cat hanging on for dear life.

2. My cat finally managed to catch one of the squirrels he'd been stalking. The squirrel rotated its head 180 and bit the cat on his nose. Poor cat never did get over his fear of squirrels after that.

Sometimes it almost feels like my cat acts like a dog. For instance.

- When I walk by, she will occasionally roll over on her back expecting me to pet her stomach, when every other cat I've ever known absolutely hates that.

- When there's a ruckus outside, she will often look toward the window and growl

- I will throw things she's playing with some distance away and she will literally fetch them.

- She shows affection by licking me, almost exactly like a dog does.

But another kind of "cat fail" with her is that she's so passive. You can pick her up, roll her over, pretty much do anything you want with her and she won't try to scratch, bite, or even get away. Then after messing with her and putting her down she just walks back over to you like "Do it again!". It's adorable - but not very catlike at all lol.

It's funny when you see a cat that can't scratch or bite. Cats are notorious for scratching so badly. So, when a cat doesn't meet your expectation for being a mean ol' cat, it's just kinda weird and funny.

I have a cat like that.

Sleeps a ton.

My cat thinks he is a dog half the time. He plays fetch with a ball, and drops it at my feet for me to toss, retrieves it, brings back in his mouth and drops at my feet and then repeat. till he ( I mean me) is tired.

Also he caterwauls and makes some kind of major announcement when he has to go poop. Like, don't worry, I won't disturb your process.

But I never see these thing as failings, I see them as quirky adorableness behaviors. Cats never fail! Everything they do they meant for it to happen! C'mon now.

My cats won't let me snuggle them unless they're half asleep/asleep, and like some sick joke, they only cuddle with me when I am asleep. The one who got caught under the basket will wait until I've fallen asleep, wake me up so that she can knead my stomach and vital organs and occasionally rub her face on my hands so that she can fall asleep on or next to me. We have such a twisted relationship. T-T
