They're only dropping NPAPI plugin support - those sites that use NPAPI won't work in Chrome.

Is that it then? Crunchyroll uses NPAPI so it's not going to work?

From that page you linked to:

PPAPI plugins still work

Plugins that use a newer, more secure system called Pepper API (PPAPI) still work. That includes plugins that come with Chrome, like Adobe Flash. PPAPI plugins that come with Chrome update when Chrome does, so there's no need to install anything extra.

Crunchyroll itself doesn't install any plug-ins, it just uses Adobe Flash.

Ah, okay. I've a vague understanding of it all xP

The way others were trying to help, it was all included, not to mention that Chrome calls it a plugin when it crashes involuntarily.

It's still not working though...

Bump. Only started having this issue today.

Side note: If I log out and watch episodes, playback works fine.

I dunno how much that'll help me since what I'm trying to watch (Parasyte, I Can't Understand What my Husband is Saying, plus others) requires me to log in to watch the entire thing.

I'm glad you were able to find a solution though.

Edit:
Bump.

So, I can watch My Two-Faced Little Sister, but I can't watch Parasyte? It seems to be something relating to that particular feed, which is super weird... I guess I just have to go through everything to find something to watch? which seems super annoying, but alright - at least I can use the site somewhat.

Beyond the Boundary works as well.

Edit2:
Log Horizon works.
Tested out Parasyte to double check... Still doesn't work. I'm on eppie 14, but I also tried 4, 1, and 12 to be sure and they all worked. I double checked 14 again after them, but it still crashes... Is it that the episode is saved around halfway through? Is there a way to reset this?

Have you tried viewing the episode in a different resolution, at least until it gets a couple of minutes past the point where it currently is?

It appears from info you posted earlier that you are using Windows 8.1, so you could also try using Internet Explorer for those problem episodes. (IE in 8.1 has Flash built in).

I had before but I double checked it by changing it down to SD from 480 but it still locked up promptly after the ad.

I checked out IE and it still locked up. Hell, it even gave me a program non-responsive prompt when I went to close it - but I'm not sure how different IE is anymore...

Double checking Firefox... and it locks up as well.

Since the problem seems to be related to the ad break, I'll send you a 48 hour guest pass to see if being premium for a bit gets you past the problem.

Weird, that seems to have done it. I went straight to Parasyte after redeeming it and it will finally play. It seems to be something with the ad on only specific shows. (Normally I'm the user that sites hate, but that particular thing didn't remove the issue either and it's still disabled.)

Edit:
Bump.

Still no issues.

Edit2:
'kay, so my premie ran out. It's not crashing, but it now refuses to play. I'm on episode 21, around halfway or more through.

Edit3:
Sooo trying again today on Parasyte eppie 21. After 4 ads, a solid two minutes of seeing two games and the same two Fisher Price ones, eppie 21 is working. After four ads, two of which is that aggravating Fisher Price one, episode 11 of Food Wars... just in time to finish the episode and start it all over again... I've seen this damned Fisher Price episode six times now.

I think it's resolved now, for those that're following along at home.

Ow. That sounds seriously painful.

I know 48 hours isn't much, but I've sent you a pass. I have a couple more if you'd like - let me know when to send them so they don't overlap.

(Sorry, I would have sent this as a PM but your settings say you're on vacation.)

Ack, I didn't even realize that was on xD It's likely been on for more than a few years now, whoops!

I mean, I generally don't mind ads so much? but I gotta have the variety. The same damn thing more than twice in a rolling span of three minutes is a bit much x)

Thanks :3 ♥
