Simple thread title - what's your favorite anime and why? Let us know and let's discuss!

SInce I'm starting the thread, I might as well go first.

My favorite series is Cowboy Bebop. Hands down. That said, I love Trigun and I'm so in love with Your Lie in April. It was an emotional gut punch each week, but a good one. When it comes to DVD (and is dubbed) I may need to try to convince my wife to watch Your Lie in April.

I loved the first half of Blue Exorcist, but once it began to veer away from the manga source the anime suffered greatly. Their attempt to end and tie it up in a knot wasn't great, IMO. I still enjoyed it, but I'm liking the ongoing manga MUCH better. I'd love for them to re-do that show ala Fullmetal Alchemist.

How about you?

My all time favorite Anime is Cowboy Bebop as well, it is just an all around great Anime. I love the characters, the adventures they have and all of their individual backgrounds and personal demons. I love Faye Valentine! I hate that the series ended and wished it could have went on forever.

Before I got into Cowboy Bebop, Robotech was my favorite followed by Big O.

There are the obvious ones like Trigun and Cowboy Bebop, but recently I've watched a few I really enjoyed like Noragami and Charlotte.

Favorite of all time though?

I'd have to say Spice and Wolf.

So many to choose from...
Most Recently it's been SAO because I'm a Gamer and the emotions and friendships portrayed in that show I could relate too. It was Gaming that got me through my Divorce and the friends I made through Game were strong outside once I met them. Not to mention the "feels" from the last season it's there for me.
Still love GForce, and Knights of Sedonia.

Fullmetal Alchemist is my favourite show (or series I should say). I don't really want to choose which one I like better because I love them both. Brotherhood went a lot quicker in the first episodes, so I don't think I would have been as attached to some of the characters if I hadn't watched Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) first. Hughes was one of my favourite characters and you see a lot more of him in the original series. It may not follow the manga, but I love the original series story also. For both I love the story and the characters. Brotherhood has so many great characters that aren't in the original (Olivier Armstrong, May Chang and LIng Yao). Going into watching it I didn't know what to expect, but I didn't expect to get as much emotion from it as I did. I only just watched them for the first time back in September, but loved them so much I got the blu rays for Christmas and have watched each three times so far.

As for everyone else's favourites, I loved Cowboy Bebop and just finished Trigun a couple weeks ago. I love Vash! Haven't gotten around to Your Lie in April yet (have heard it's a real tear-jerker) but it's in my queue as well as Blue Exorcist. SAO is also in there, but there are so many shows in there it's hard to chose a new one to watch sometimes. I'll eventually get around to them though. I usually pick depending on my mood and what kind of show I feel like watching. I'm sure next time I need a good cry I'll try out Your Lie in April. If it's anything like Clannad After Story I'll be bawling my eyes out and need a whole box of tissues!

Just completed FMA and really enjoyed. I have not watched Brotherhood as of yet. Mushishi and Fate/Zero (not so family friendly are up there for me). I am looking to start Blue Exorcist soon.

Another one of my favourites is Ouran High School Host Club. I watched it earlier this year on Funimation and loved it so much I bought the blu-ray for it. Just finished re-watching it last night. Have to make sure all the discs work right? That's my excuse anyways It's hilarious. Just a show about a host club in a high school for rich kids, but the characters are great and every episode makes me laugh.
