There are spoiler tags for a reason, I mean you did warn but you can edit your post for spoilers.

I dont get why so many people are so obsessed with characters dying in anime.

Option A kill off people in anime-fans get mad at favorite character getting killed.

Option B Don't kill off said characters-fans that want more serious content get mad.

I say this if you want characters killed in an anime go watch Akame Ga Kill, that should satisfy the need for characters being killed off.

There's already a spoiler warning, adding a spoiler tag would be redundant I'm leaving it as is. You apparently missed the point I'm not saying I want to see character's die I'm saying I'm sick of Fairy Tail building false tension as if a character is going to die and not following through, it's overused to the point it can't be believed any character will die.

Or remove the warning and use a spoiler tag, thats what they're there for...

Im not missing the point and you failed to read my post. The purpose of not killing a character off is to give suspense, will they survive or will they die. Simple solution if you're tired of not having FT characters killed off then simply dont watch it anymore or just go in expecting people not to die.

As for the overused, what anime these days doesn't overuse some trope or cliche in it now? Look at Naruto, they will flashback, filler as much as humanly possible before they get to the main part of the story all so they can milk that extra bit of cash out of fans, its old and yes we complain but either we deal with it or we drop it.

You really hate the lack of a spoiler tag don't you? Absolutely none of that is echoed in your original post, it instead sounds like you think I'm some bloodthirsty viewer. Sorry if my criticism bothers you but this is a forum and anime as with all mediums are open to criticism simply saying you don't like it just drop it is not at all constructive. You don't like what I have to say about the show you can just as well not respond to this post. I have no problem with tropes if used correctly, filler arcs however are not tropes nor is repeatedly leading the audience to believe a character is dead or going to die and can be damaging to the overall experience.

Am I the only one who wanted Lisanna to actually be dead? I don't mind her being here, but it's just sorta weird how she was alive this whole time. It felt unnecessary to me. Just my opinion .

I hear you she so far seems to be quite unnecessary. The flashbacks made it like Natsu and Lisanna had such a close relationship, but they rarely even interact.

I get where you're coming from, but it's just how Fairy Tail rolls, take it or leave it.
Then again the Fairy Tail anime is getting darker and darker so you never know.

Atleast Simon is still dead ^^

Words in mouth man, never said that don't assume thats what I'm saying.

Ok lets try this instead, I'm trying to have a legitimate conversation, not trying to say you're in the wrong or you shouldn't post your opinions on the matter.

I agree with you so far as that certain tropes are way too overdone in anime today. Whether we like it or not FT is more than likely going to continue on the path of not killing the characters off. What I was trying to get across to you is if you go in expecting characters not to die, then you have no reason be annoyed with it. Also I was trying to get across to you was, if you dont like that characters aren't killed off when they should then you can simply not watch the show, I've done that with shows myself that bothered me to the point where I just dropped it.

As for the spoilers, I'm just stating they have em for a reason, use em or don't thats up to you, I can't force you to use em. I know certain sites that will actually delete your post for not using spoiler tags if available or will edit the post for you.

That just how Fairy Tale is. I really dislike it myself since they are trying to portray a serious event of people fighting each other and yet it doesn't feels as serious. The worst part for me is that every villain they defeat either realized they were wrong then turned good and at some point returns to help them.

For me, I quit Fairy Tale when Natsu pushed Gajeel away and used the exact same move he used the entire series and overpowered the combination attack of the Dark and Light dragon slayer in the tournament. After standing and just tanking hits the entire fight and he just soloed both dragon slayer like this, I just raged flipped the computer over.

I was actually pretty pleased with that outcome in terms of experience Natsu easily outclasses them both and has taken on some very powerful enemies. We never actually see the Sabretooth Dragonslayers fight anyone substantial so them getting a beat down by Natsu makes sense.

I'm obviously not fed up enough to stop watching however I still think it's worth discussing. Not killing off characters isn't really a trope, I'm fine with anime not killing off characters however there's a good and a bad way handling it and in my opinion Fairy Tail does it in the worst way.
