So my friend just told me how she and her family members nearly got shot and i am annoyed.

Why do people do this they shouldn't even have the right to own a gun if they are going to misuse it.

The conversation i had with my friend.
Why are some people this disgusting where i live if a dog escaped and ran towards you barking you wouldn't shoot the thing what happened to using your head.

He even kicked the dog first to make it so angry https://imgur.com/9fExqPG

guns dont kill people
people kill people
giving more laws to a gun wont do anything because a gun cant aim & shoot at a person by itself

No one said anything about banning guns and of course people kill people.
A gun is a tool for self defense or used to kill.

some people like this guy misuse it and shouldn't own a gun.

I'm not bringing up a should guns be legal or not debate as the answer is different depending on so many variables.

MY question is why do people MISUSE guns.

Dog got out, and was out of control.

I see someone that is lucky they didn't get charged for having an out of control dog.

This probably doesn't apply to the OP post in particular but I will post this anyway.

Why do people misuse guns? This is a very broad generalization I have come across over the years. People become complacent after having it for a long period of time or for using it for target practice over a time. The people who have been in the military or law enforcement I see this happen to the most. Typically not when your in the military but many years after you get out. A very large portion of my friends went into the military after high school and probably more then half of them post pictures of them going into the desert with a 24 case of beer in one arm and a rifle in the other. Alcohol and drugs do not mix with guns under any circumstances. On top of that that I have known a few people in the law enforcement field who were teaching gun safety and pulled out the clip and forgot about the round in the chamber and shot the gun to prove it was empty.

The point is just because you may of used it a few times at a gun range, doesn't mean you can skip the safety part of handling a weapon.

A dog escaping a yard is not unusual let alone it barking at a stranger my sisters dog barks at everyone it's normal. In the end the dog was no danger to the guy and the owners were getting it back. Shooting the dog is not only unwarranted but pathetic. Dogs that escape usually run to people and bark doesn't mean you should kill then. Shoot first ask questions later attitudes are stupid. Also kicking a dog is stupid and asking for it to hurt them they are in the wrong.

England has outlawed guns and experienced a significant drop in crime rate. Let's follow suit.

Smart people make mistakes too, so gun misuse is only human.

A dog getting out of the yard is irresponsible ownership. Period.

I have mixed feelings on this because a rather large dog broke out of a yard once when I was younger while I was walking with my younger siblings. I started yelling for the owner but no one came and the dog kept growling and barking when I tried to move. Being the oldest of course I had to be in front even though it was terrifying. I didn't know what this dog was going to do. I don't know this dog. This went on for several minutes until the owner finally came out of her fucking yard to get the damn thing. I walked away from that one shaking like a leaf.

I was absolutely terrified of dogs after that one until we got our own puppy.

I honestly can't say what happened was misuse or not in that situation because you only have one side of the story. I know my double cousin's love their dog but the thing has barked at people on walks before biting and drawing blood. Barking doesn't just mean it will only bark. They refuse to give it up though and the dog is on its final warning. They continue to make excuses for it 'it's just a little blood' or 'he normally is a good dog'.

Though I'll agree it was probably misuse in this scenario from the sound of it. The way it was painted he was aggressive and completely overreacted with little conscious effort. However, like I said that's given only one side of the matter.

I have to agree with ignitingmemories, you would have to ask the guy who did it, why he did it.

srsly, why would you run around on a large open map with a shotgun. wtf

Guns made killing people easy. Just pull a trigger and the person on the opposite side of it dies.
Kind of like how it's easy to forget your spending real money when you're using credit cards.

His KDA is probably shit.

I have to say though, another thing I'm thinking about, is how did this guy have enough time to fetch his gun to shoot it? It clearly had to have been out there barking at him for awhile, or this isn't the first time its has happened. There's a lot that seems odd about it. How far away was the dog from the property? Was the dog on his property? Like, geez, so many unanswered questions.
