But just so everyone knows...

In 2012, only 322 people were murdered with any kind of rifle, F.B.I. data shows.

long guns aren't scary, so enjoy them.

I enjoy mine on target practicing and love it. I don't pull it out and threaten anyone or if someone threatens me I'll call the cops, but in my state if someone broke into my house and assaults/battery me I have the right to shoot them. I'm not waiting for any policemen to show up because I'll probably be long gone.

Yesterday Morning a guy tried to steal the car from block away where I live.. Than this owner of the car pulled the trigger on this guy's head.. He in Hospital still alive. The thing is the owner have Criminal past so he in jail now because he carry a gun, plus he attempted to murder that guy.

The owner of the car should have yelled out, and the car thief would run away, instead of walk up to the thief and pulled the trigger at his head!

What amazed me is that this guy is still alive if he is shot in the head. -shrugs-

I guess as the person missed them that could be classed as misuse of a gun.

The gun is a machine that produces corpses, it's pretty versatile, it'll accept any living creature. 'Missing' could be the equivalent of, oh , I don't know, using your iron to make a telephone call...a pointless endeavour.

Dog got out, and was out of control.

I see someone that is lucky they didn't get charged for having an out of control dog.

Yep yep.

Where I live, this is considered gun "use," not "misuse."

If I thought a dog that was loose was a danger to me or my family.... BAM. Problem solved.

Of course, I live in the country, and gun use is fairly common around here. A shotgun has literally kept me safe. I could have been bit by a snake as round as my forearm (not scrawny, either), a few years back, if I didn't shoot the thing first. One shot on reflex hit the body, and the second aimed shot at the head.

Scared the piss out of me.... but that's exactly why I was carrying the gun in the first place.

Free will. "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink," and all that jazz. People do unpleasant things. Other plants and animals do unpleasant things. It's a fact of life.
