It appears that the manga section as a whole is having issues. Manga is down on the main site so that likely is affecting your app. The team is working on it so once manga is back up on the site check your app again to see if the issue resolved itself

Or crunchyroll.com could email us when this is fixed since it obviously effects every single manga user.

Ya, I just wanted to mention I'm getting the same problem on my iPhone 4S. The problem first started about a week or two, but after reinstalling the app, it was working again. No luck today though.

Just got this error today. Already had it open, started reading. Saw a broken picture icon, closed it, tried reopening, error.

Everyone's app is fine and working. It's whoever is hosting crunchyroll's manga. You can see for yourself, next time you get the problem just pull up a browser and you'll see its down on their site too.
I'm sure they're still working out the kinks with whoever is hosting the content (most sites usually just rent server space and rarely have complete control of their hosted content. And yes the anime still works because It's hosted through a different solution)

I understand that they are having issues with their hosting and whatnot but what I don't get is why not let your users know? It bites for the most part, but I'm in agreement with others that they could at least acknowledge us and let us know what the problem is. Having us sitting here contemplating on what's going on is only going to upset users more. I signed up for a premium account to have access to exclusive manga

Its kinda rude to have a problem and not acknowledge it. I pay for a subscription to try and support crunchy rolls efforts in supplying us with the fix we need. people have been without a service they pay for for 2 days without a peep from crunchy roll? That's very annoying and pretty disrespectful of you. if my isp did that to me they'd lose a customer.

Listen up guys a simple "we're having problems" thread in the forums would go a long way to placating angry end users. keep in mind its us end users you wanna hang on to as I'm sure you want to keep our subscription funds coming in. There are many other ways for us to get the content you provide.

Or twitter, or facebook.

I get that there're going to be issues occasionally, but this nonchalant customer service is the real issue. This is a service we all (or most of us) pay for, and if there are issues on their end we need to know. otherwise you're just left guessing as to where the problem could be, and that's no fun.

CR has many avenues to let us know when they're having issues, and yet none of them were used to inform or update us on the state of their service. That's a real problem.

Especially, since even e-mails to tech support have gone unanswered (still)

Totally agreed Stumpo, but seriously, they have their own forums, that they like, run and stuff...

Still, its finally back up, A little communication would go a long way though. I thought service and anime/manga was why I'm paying a subscription.

Again, I dont think its unreasonable to be notified in advance for system updates. With system glitches a simple notification in these forums would go a LONG way!

It's been up and down for the past few weeks, communication would be nice though, but they may have already made some when they initially started having these issues for all I know. Netflix had the same issues so I'm not surprised if CR still runs into some growing pains.

I'm a slight happier gal now. I just downloaded the app once again and it worked! I was so worried how I was going to get my Aot fix. Seriously, as the other users stated next time CR some kind of response and acknowledgment of the problem would be nice and appreciate it. We do get and understand with technology comes problems. Trust me most if not all of have other means of getting the manga and anime we want, but most of us are trying to do the right thing by coming here to watch and read because we want to support the anime community.

Or me. I seriously wonder if they had trouble getting the chapters up in time AGAIN (http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-915321/latest-manga-chapters-missing), and this time someone decided "Fark it, let's just take the whole thing down rather than admit it."
