A world where all matter is made up of bacon alone.

I would rule my kingdom ruthlessly. No misdeed would go unpunished, the people would be well equipped with tools to decipher truth from falsehood, I would implement programs that would uphold order and justice.

I would promptly place a smarter, more political savvy adviser in charge of state affairs,
and I would remain as a figurehead, though one with veto power. (Gotta be ready for when my trusty adviser turns evil, yasee.)

After which, I would use my newfound position to collect every good computer science textbook in existence and study my brains out.
Or, if computers have not yet been invented, I will urge my adviser to fund the invention of the computer, and then fun the writing of every good computer science text book in existence.

So, I guess at this point my world has sorta a fantasy/cyberpunk thing going on, so I would urge
my adviser to create an army of cyborgs to enforce his/her/my authority with an iron fist.
When the cyborgs inevitable prove to be impossible to control, I will of course have a special
forces unit of typical magic-knights to find and squash the pockets of cyborg rebellion within
my army.

Eventually , of course, members of my special forces will rebel and form their own anti-heroic order of dark knights, which I must then send
wave after wave of assassins to kill. They will not be killed so easily, of course, and my attempts to defeat them will only make them stronger. Eventually, they will make their way to my throne room where they shall fight me and my adviser. The heroes will, technically, win. My adviser shall flee and I shall be pushed from the highest tower of my kingdom, from which I will fall into the cold sea which just happens to be right next to said highest tower.

I will develop a case of amnesia, remembering nothing of my time as ruler. The only things I will have
will be some basic laser-sword techniques, and an uncanny knowledge of computer systems.
I will see much injustice in the way my political adviser (who is still around, btw) runs the world in which I live, and so I shall
join the Dark knights resistance against my empire. They shall not recognize me without my trademark mask, you see.

I will have moral issues with the methods of the dark knights. In my amnesiac state, I will adopt a very
naive and idealistic world view which does not match the methods of the dark knights. I will eventually convert
the people of my squad to my world view, but will still have issues with high command.

In the end, I will grow in combat prowess and accomplish many great deeds: fighting the cyborg soldiers of the empire,
the loyalist magic knights, corrupt members of the Dark Knights high command, evil demons, cunning dragons, random cyber-gangsters and the like.

But eventually, whether someone in command of the dark knights (who really did recognize me after all, and still hates my guts)
or an agent of my adviser will force me to remember my past, and how evilly I (kinda... sorta... I was a figurehead) ruled over my empire.
I will have a bit of a breakdown, where I must decide whether I should continue to fight against the empire, turn myself in to the dark knights, or return to the throne as the dark lord.

Eventually, I will make the right choice. We shall storm my castle (which my adviser has gaudily redecorated in my absence) and face my adviser (who now has master magic, and given himself various cybernetic implants) in one final dual, defeating him and saving the empire.

I shall, of course, allow the Dark Knights to deal with the politics of the nation. I still would not trust myself
to return to the throne. And everyone would live happily.

Until that one guy in the Knights who hates my guts ascends to the throne and enacts a lot of anti-cyborg
policies, forcing me to lead another rebellion. But of course, that won't happen for another two or three years.

Being a former dark lord is tough.

1. A low population world of townships and vast, unexplored forests and mountains.
2. A world where nature and humans lived in harmony (that is a fantasy).
3. Nobody would know there was a ruler, each town would have the illusion of autonomy.
4. People would, for the most part, live long happy lives.
5. Yes, there would be magic, and the Sidhe , and dragons.
6. There would be much mystery to those seeking such things.

I have notebooks with hundreds of pages of details, but this forum is not the place.

A kingdom of absolute law is far more terrifying than a kingdom ruled by an evil despot.

Make a massive gold statue of myself, stare at it for a bit, then proceed to watch the world burn.

I'd just get myself the only dragon in existence and fly around on it restoring peace like a god damn Avatar.

Cool.

Decades of running rpg games. I have volumes of self-produced source material and my own personal world setting. The NPC I have as my in-world persona has only very rarely put in an appearance, and never in a combat role.

Ah, but it's both ruled by a despot and law.

I wouldn't rule it.
I'd guide some of the remaining humans but they'd be at the mercy of nature, monsters and the powers flowing thru the air.
