I never understood why premium subscribers were forced to watch commercials on there in the first place, let alone THREE to FOUR per episode. That's just bull. If you're paying for premium content you shouldn't have to watch those.

The money a premium subscriber pays should goddamn cover the advetisiting costs.

Fuck Hulu, I'll use it as a last resort, Netflix wins by a landslide.

I hear what your saying but I still use it because they have a huge library of older anime like early 2000s and even some 90s stuff. Sometimes they give you the option to watch 1:30 clip all at once this I like give you time to go get food and beverage and then ready to watch no more ads for episode. They are simulcasting a lot these days from CR and Funi both sites that part is growing fast.

You would think but you if you pay for cable you still get commercials, hence why you get ads on Hulu, because its owned by the networks...basically its them trying to squeeze more money out of people.

Took them long enough. If they had started this a few years ago I would probably still be a subscriber. Too bad they waited so long that I found other options. Hulu isn't even on my radar anymore.

It's about time that they offered this. One of the reasons I haven't been subscribing to Hulu is that even with a subscription I still get ads. Of course, Hulu's programming is quite expensive compared to anime on Crunchyroll seeing that those content has more widespread appeal than the niche appeal that anime is. But in any case, it's great that Hulu is offering a no-ad level of subscription to those willing to pay the extra cost for it. Still, there's just nothing in it for me to warrant a Hulu subscription aside from maybe those Viz shows, which I can still watch for free unlike here where it requires a one week wait. I might subscribe to it one month at a time, but that's it.

If you think about it, its just..10 more one dollar bills. So if you don't buy 10 other things, it pays itself!

Meh 12 bucks isn't to bad I'll try it out for a few months and see if it is better than the 8 dollar option. I certainly spend way more than 12 dollars in way more frivolous ways lol

i think its basically the same Anime content that is found on Funimation but all the content on Funimation minus the dubs is only 4.95 a month with dubs its 7.95

Buutt if you are willing to pay 60 dollars up front you can get the whole year for 5 dollars a month (thats with dubs)

IDK i think i will just stick with Crunchyroll, Funimation, Netflix and my Cable with DVR

I might consider, but I will need to check their selection.

Their "Ad free" option still has pre and post roll ads from what I hear. So yeah, until they fix that, screw 'em.

I thought Hulu always had ads to pay for the extra cost of current season content. Though I'm not sure why they have ads for catalog titles if that is indeed the case.

Most of the anime on Hulu I can get on either FUNi or CR, but I'm currently watching Bakuman on Hulu so I'm glad I can finish it commercial free (hopefully Viz will add Bakuman 2 and 3 in the future).

I also watch Comedy Central shows. Their late night shows are next day, but lately they've been phasing out other shows. Shows in their first season are on a 3-week delay, and shows 2+ season are not on Hulu at all so I'm forced to watch them on the CC app with my families cable account, with a less than ideal AirPlay experience. I also watch catalog titles of American and British shows on Hulu, and am loving the Hulu original "Difficult People."

Think that $11.99 may be a bit high for how much I use it, especially since I mostly use it for Comedy Central shows, but unlike Netflix they have current season shows and I would bet a much larger catalog of anime and American and British TV.

I believe thats just for a small selection of ABC shows (and one FOX), at least thats what the small print says on the page to upgrade.

Due to streaming rights, the shows below are not included in our No Commercials plan. You can still watch these shows interruption-free. They will play with a short commercial before and after each episode. The shows are: Grey’s Anatomy, Once Upon A Time, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Scandal, New Girl, Grimm and How To Get Away With Murder.
